I would definitely love to take a guitar into this house just to write a song in the same closet Kurt wrote In Utero in. Would be a cool story to tell!
@@Bomer527 If this was some "mid" artist then the cringe comment would be warranted. Artists all the time will write & record their albums in a particular place that has a history & significance which inspires that artist throughout the creative process.(Look at Abby Road studios for instance.) Cobain was one of the most important songwriters of our time & when a song is written all things come into play(emotion, environment, timeline, style etc....). That's where I was getting at with the initial post.
Why just let a piece of grunge history fall apart like that? Especially since one of Nirvana’s albums was literally written there. Not only that, but it’s a fairly nice place if it was fixed up.
its really hard to believe he just used to live there. that must have been a different kind of feeling to be able to walk in the house he was living in!!
Nicely made video, particularly like the part where you dropped in pics of what it looked like before compared recent. Kind of surprised that it is abandoned but thought I read a comment that someone bought it and getting ready to fix it up.
Fun fact that song Smells like team spirit. Was a big middle finger from Kurt to the music Industry because they wanted Kurt to make his music sound a certain way. That Kurt did not want to do. So that is why he wrote that song. And Kurt did not even like that song he wrote.
It recently sold, the refurb will likely cost more than the home. Crazy a house in the Hollywood Hills would ever fall into a state of such disrepair, that's a sought after part if town.
I wish I had a.neighbor like Kurt Cobain of Nirvana why because I can learn how to pick up a guitar and jam along with him but in a none creepy stalker way of course.
Really amazing to see the inside of that place after all this time, be cool to flip that place and make it a chill place to hangout and and relax but it needs massive amounts of work and cheddar ❤ thanks for the footage
Patty Schemel was their roommate at this location. She said Kurt took down one of his paintings to provide shade for Patty while she was napping on the couch.

And then the dilapidated ceilings cave in on you
Crazy that this house is abandoned and you could just explore. Looks kinda cozy and nice.
i wouldnt trust that balcony floor.
It’s all boarded up now.
I should have gone before that happened since I’m in LA…

Why would Courtney not keep this house up in the memory of her husband
why would she do something as ridiculous as that?
Doesn’t strike as the upkeep type
they didn't own the house
Bc he hated kurt by the end?
She probably doesn't know the house is abandoned or available.
That mustard in the fridge was probably touched by Kurt. 😳
😱
It could be worth millions ☝️

Very unlikely.

It's closed to the public, but somebody broke the locks and now it's accessible lol
Even the graffiti guys took it easy on his house ❤
never knew he had a house in Hollywood. thought he hated the place.
Only rented while he recorded In Utero.

this house is a fuckin prison
anyone would feel stressed in this house
I mean, it kinda looks nice because of the light, it has wide and open windows
why would you? Esp. 30 years ago when the house was in good shape!

What a bummer….. Such a cool looking place to live…..

Pues yo si tuviese pasta me la pillaba me encantaba Kurt cobain siempre estára en mi corazón
Looks like the place has been emptied of its copper.
Essa casa de Kurt Cobain e linda só de pensar que ele morava nessa casa fico emocionada te amo Kurt ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
this place is so depressing , cold, sad, negative I don't know why
Kurt had everything , almost😢
where did all these questions come from😭
Who knows 😭
No he died in Seattle at his house in, I believe it was Bellevue
I can not beleive, that this is Kurt's house. Courtney Love would have sold it,for a long time if it had been true!
This is absolutely the house he and Courtney lived in for a short time. It's known as the "In Utero" house to fans.

Sad looking. It could be a great place for someone.
What was up with Kurt writing songs in a closet, sounds a little odd to me.
Right? Like he didn't feel safe in his own house.
Solitude is my guess. Being alone with his own thoughts without any interruptions.

He would often convert walk-in closets into dens, cover the floor in blankets and cushions and you've got a cosy, quiet place to chill and write.

it's abandoned?can i move in?
Seems like someone would at least restore it and perhaps like the house.
Who said you were nirvana in a strange and lonely place the denial
Eu gostaria de morar na casa onde morava Kurt Cobain seria um grande sonho realizado
You should do paranormal activity in his house😂
hmmm the house where he and courtney would chase the dragon.. how commendable.
hate that bish
Is it still abandoned? 😢 if yes, I wonder why
@TEDDY K2 this isnt where Kurt committed suicide though...
@TEDDY K2 pretty sure he died in another country
geez people... he died in Seatle. WTH
You are all wrong. Kurt is alive and well, faked his death and now working in Macdonald with Tupac and Elvis.
@@benjigault9043 He didn't commit suicide. hello!? everyone knows he was murdered!
Why would it lie empty so for so long ?
Some people are so rich they forget how many properties they own, it likely fell in to disrepair and the owner just forgot about it.
Thank you I love it
Who owns it now
Sad that people stole pieces of the house as souvenirs. So trashy dude. He passed there.
No, he died in the greenhouse of his Seattle home.
