I once was sent on a site work job, my Union-Laborers and right away I saw what the boss was doing. Every Friday, two guys were laid off, every Monday two more would show up, and he did this for 5-6weeks. When he was done, what a crew we had - bridge piers for second floor parking, all the storm drainage, sewer lines, every job you could imagine. I couldn’t wait to get to work in the morning! Your crew reminds me of that job when I watch your videos. His name was (for us), Old Blood N’ Guts! He demanded our best and we gave it to him! 46 yers ago.
Atlanta homeowner here who’s building a pool soon. Love the formed bullnose, slate with the broom finish. I couldn’t agree more little kids benefit from the finish. Great to hear your thoughts on that. One thing I’d like to see, that you never seem to do, please take a few minutes at the end of the video to show what the formed edges look like. I’d kill to see how you remove the bull nose form and exactly what it looks like. Thanks Mike!!! Love your videos.
My Old man and I just poured 6 yards of concrete on 4 seperate slabs and watching your videos were a true blessing. Thank you for making these videos and passing along this information to others.
I saw a contractor's crew member lose control of a wheelbarrow and dumped the concrete and the wheelbarrow into a pool. I told them to just leave it, maybe take a shovel and cut it into smaller pieces. Wait for it to set and then pull it out of the water. The boss wouldn't wait and some poor guy had to go into the water and get it out. It was in the early spring in Minnesota, so the water was cold as ice.
