@@anon4606 All right, so I actually just found the solution. I was using it on a Super Game Boy and was just getting a black screen. The button has to be held down on powering up the console, then let go, and then I have to press it again to activate the EZ Flash menu after the Super GB does its thing (should make its usual startup sound and say "Super Game Boy" at the bottom of the screen). Great vid, thanks for sharing your experience with the product. For use with a GBA, would you say this is a better GB experience than playing these games using an EZ Flash Omega or are there no noticeable differences when accounting for hardware?
Hey, great vid, it was nice and concise, i bought this cart and im still waiting for it to arrive, but I have a question i cant seem to find on any reddit or mod forum about this cart; Where does the cart keep saved game data? does it save them in that "Saver" folder in your root directory? and do I have to make a "Saver" folder or will the cartridge make the folder by itself? I'm wondering because I want to transfer saved data from an emulator if possible, I've never bought a flash cart before, so thanks for the vid!
Yes that saver folder is created when you save your first game. I am not 100 percent sure if a save from a pc emulator will work or not, if it doesn't save the data in the same way, but you can certainly give it a shot.
Strange, I've tried it with the super gameboy and it didn't work, didn't even show the start menu. Also from 82 games that I've loaded on the memory card, only 76 games work on my gameboy. For example Super Mario land 1,2 and 3, kirby's dreamland 2 and a few others don't work, but most others do work. I wonder why this is.
It is diffferent. I actually love BennVenn products. The ElCheapo does not have the Real Time Clock (RTC) feature so any game that requires that wouldn't function as developed. Still playable for the most part but you miss out on the use of that feature.
Great movie. It is a pity that I only watched it today :( I ordered the "GAME COLOR" card from alliexpress, I already know that there is no RTC what makes me sad. I am asking if someone can write to me or in "Game Color" can change batteries without "soldering"?
I actually think the battery on them is even a rechargeable anyway, my EZ-Flash IV Micro SD has sat unused for a long while, it complained about the last save being corrupted (of course, since it sits on the RAM and only gets saved on the next boot), but after leaving the GBA turned on with the charger for like 6h, it didn't complain anymore about that. There are rechargeable button cells after all.
Got a friend who paid 28 bucks for 280+ game gba multicart 6 months ago - he's been playing it practically every day. I promised him the thing wouldn't save - it does, I said it wouldn't last, but it just keeps on ticking!
Hi! Almost a year since my last comment giving an off-hand suggestion for how to solve the SGB issue. This time I've actually figured out a solution. I've modified EZ Flash's kernel to make it work. You can find it by searching for nitro2k01's SGB Enabler for EZ Flash Jr. (Assuming Google has indexed the page already.)
My ROMS aren’t showing up at all and the update worked just fine. Has anyone else has this issue? I’ve formatted the SD card to be what it needs to, but the files aren’t loading.
@@maybug I ended up resolving the issue. Weirdly enough, my cart didn’t want to work with directories; all the ROMs finally appeared if I just put them on the root of the SD card.
My Super Famicom, Super Gameboy, results in a black screen inside the gameboy boarder. I’ve tried about 30 times taking the cart in/out, resetting, waiting ect to no luck. Anyone have this working an a Japanese Super GB?
omega uses goomba emulation to run gbc/gb games, and for me personally, the save files always get deleted randomly So by using ez jr which runs the rom natively and not emulation, ive not had my save files deleted anymore
Only real downside I can give it is that's it's a power hungry flashcart and drains batteries at more than double the speed of regular games [especially in startup], so unless you have a rechargable battery pack mod or good rechargable AA batteries it's a bit of a drag
Yes they would be. Its good practice to swap batteries every 5 or so years and you can do it without losing save data by jumping a temporary second battery into the mix
@@Restalgia according to the EZ Flash website the game saves are saved to the SD card and the battery is ONLY for the real time clock, so if I'm not playing any games that use in game clocks (like Pokemon for example) I should be okay if the battery dies right?

Yes that saver folder is created when you save your first game. I am not 100 percent sure if a save from a pc emulator will work or not, if it doesn't save the data in the same way, but you can certainly give it a shot.
@@Restalgia Thanks G, I'm clickin that sub button
@@superflopp thanks man, i very very much appreciate it!
Hi. Save files from PC an Android emulator works pretty good. I use my old boy for Android and VBA for PC and both save files work.
Regards
This is exactly what I was looking for, thanks.
How does the battery life compare to a regular cartridge? I own an EZ Flash Omega and it drains the battery on my SP quite atrociously
Is this the same as an El Cheapo?
It is diffferent. I actually love BennVenn products. The ElCheapo does not have the Real Time Clock (RTC) feature so any game that requires that wouldn't function as developed. Still playable for the most part but you miss out on the use of that feature.
From which website do you guys get your roms when you don't have back-ups from your original GBC games?
Great movie. It is a pity that I only watched it today :( I ordered the "GAME COLOR" card from alliexpress, I already know that there is no RTC what makes me sad. I am asking if someone can write to me or in "Game Color" can change batteries without "soldering"?
I traded 2 500 GB HDDs for one with a broken button! lol
Also, I had a reform, which is older than the omega, that has a removable battery. Strange.
Any more tips to get this cart to play on the super gameboy? I can't get it to work after several resets on the cartridge.
Do you know if this flash cartridge or any FC could be used with the Transfer Pak, and use your Pokémon in Pkmn Stadium?
I believe it doens't work, I remember I saw in a video.
so when i replace the battery i wont loose my data? saves?
Hi! Almost a year since my last comment giving an off-hand suggestion for how to solve the SGB issue. This time I've actually figured out a solution. I've modified EZ Flash's kernel to make it work. You can find it by searching for nitro2k01's SGB Enabler for EZ Flash Jr. (Assuming Google has indexed the page already.)
did I miss it, or did you say nothing about the reset button on the ez junior?
The reset button just resets back to the ez-flash menu game selection screen, rather then needing to power off and back on again
@@Restalgia when activated, it performs a game save when you press the reset button, right?
Load times are a big whatever to me, just gives me a reason to take a drink while it loads for me
My ROMS aren’t showing up at all and the update worked just fine.
Has anyone else has this issue? I’ve formatted the SD card to be what it needs to, but the files aren’t loading.
Make sure you place them in directories with no more than 90 games in each (less is better).
@@maybug I ended up resolving the issue. Weirdly enough, my cart didn’t want to work with directories; all the ROMs finally appeared if I just put them on the root of the SD card.
What is the difference between the ez flash Jr and the Chinese flashcard? (Besides the price)
I know you said it as saves but is that only for games with saves or dose it do have a save state feature
Just normal save functions
@@Restalgia thank you
Theres no save state but you can hack the rom to allow certain button combination that allow for save states. Search for mattcurrie save state.
@@TheMushMe cool thank you
can i load gameboy advance game like pokemon ruby to this and play on gbc ?
Does all the EZ flash have timebomb?
My Super Famicom, Super Gameboy, results in a black screen inside the gameboy boarder. I’ve tried about 30 times taking the cart in/out, resetting, waiting ect to no luck. Anyone have this working an a Japanese Super GB?
If I save a game does it dump a .sav file into the sd card that I would be able to export to an emulator on my pc or is it more complicated?
Does this cart work on a gameboy player?
For the super Nintendo? If so, yes, I show it in the video
You mean the one on the GameCube? If so, it should work since it's basically a GBA 😊
Thanks for the Video.😉👍😊 can you post your game list?😉
What's the difference of emulating on like a GBC game on a ez flash omega or playing the original hardware?
omega uses goomba emulation to run gbc/gb games, and for me personally, the save files always get deleted randomly
So by using ez jr which runs the rom natively and not emulation, ive not had my save files deleted anymore
I'm on the latest firmware as of January 2023. Rayman loaded in 5 seconds.
Here’s only hoping that Super Game Boy support gets added in the future someday.
Hello, my EZ Flash jr came without a SD card. Do you know which SD cards it supports?
Ah nevermind, seems like it supports up to 32GB.
so you can save anywhere and can you use cheats ? Is there a way to enter cheats?
the thing holding the battery looks like the pokemon Mew
Where did you download games?
How do this and the omega perform on the Gameboy player?
Only real downside I can give it is that's it's a power hungry flashcart and drains batteries at more than double the speed of regular games [especially in startup], so unless you have a rechargable battery pack mod or good rechargable AA batteries it's a bit of a drag
I mainly collect original games, but it would have been great to copy my own original rom and save files and put them on a flash cart like that.
Are game saves effected by dry battery on the EZ Flash Omega?
Yes they would be. Its good practice to swap batteries every 5 or so years and you can do it without losing save data by jumping a temporary second battery into the mix
@@Restalgia according to the EZ Flash website the game saves are saved to the SD card and the battery is ONLY for the real time clock, so if I'm not playing any games that use in game clocks (like Pokemon for example) I should be okay if the battery dies right?
@@supergamerboydx9158 Did you discovered if this is true?
What dragon ball game was he playing?
Does it work in super gameboy??
I wonder why it takes so long to start some games... do they flash the game to some sort of flash memory or are they dumping games to a PSRAM chip?
better check your microSD, mine works flawless , load games in about seconds
you also have to format it on fat32 and 32kb. You can use any 4gb to 32GB microSD card but dont use less than 4GB.
in your microSD root you have a limit of 32 files and folder, organice your roms, not more than 99 roms per folder.
Update the firmware of the flashcart, is realy easy.
Worth buying for the Super Gameboy.
Does this and the edgb or everdrive work in the same way?
And which is more recommended edgb of ezflash?
@@8BitPasta they work in more or less the same way. Everdrive boards are higher quality, but these do the job. Its all a personal preference, but these are a great value.
