Tanzania, Burundi to build $900 million electric standard gauge railway

  • Tanzania and Burundi are planning to build an electric Standard Gauge Railway line that will initially connect the two countries. The line will eventually pass through the Democratic Republic of Congo. It's part of an effort to help the three nations take better advantage of the African Continental Free Trade Area.

    Mwang'onda you are wrong, what you need to look at is the volume of cargo that is passing from Burundi and Rwanda to Tanzania. To start producing manufactured or processed goods you are going to need a better network of transportation and connectivity to move goods freely and effectively! Think out of the box my brother!

    here in Iligan City Mindanao Philippines., there are so many Chinese Business Man here., other Chinese are Students and They've Study here., some Filipinos here are choose to not to become a Chinese Friend., why? its because many Chinese People lived here., are also choose to not to become a Filipino's Friend., even this Chinese are living here in the Philippines...

      CPC and according to the report they are seeking funding from the ADB on this project, but since its a project which will help develop the economy we can safely assume the US or EU will definitely not do such loans as they seek to stop development not advance it.

      Am sorry to disappoint you but this railway is largely in Tanzania only a smal part in burundi so it's CCM money
