FLYING TO ST BARTH 2015

- In April 2015, I went to St. Barth to photo shoot the regatta week of Les Voiles De St. Barth. I used this occasion to fly for the first time my new Cessna 414A to St. Barth. This movie depicts my flight from Tampa to St. Barth with the challenging landing in this epic airport and finishes with some great footage of the regatta, and a slideshow of some of the photos I took for the event.

I’ve watched a lot of St.Barth landing videos and that landing was awesome! The word is diminished these days. Watching that landing at that airport truly leaves any pilot in awe! True mastery. You are the man!

Christophe, I read the article in Flying magazine about the transformation of N414XX, and you did an absolutely fantastic job refurbishing the aircraft. It looks totally wonderful
However, as much as I enjoyed the article, and your video on the restoration project, I have to say flying into St. Barth was pretty spectacular. But, even that pales against your stunning photography and videography of the race you were covering. Plus a gyrocopter pilot? That's pretty amazing, too. I love the images in this video, they are totally stunning, and testament to not only you as a photographer, but you as a pilot/photographer!

Wow!!! My husband and I are blown away by the photography of the boats both on the surface and in the air. My husband is a pilot and an ex helmsman of sailboats. He prefers wind power crafts over the motor vessels any day. He just love this video that he has watched it many times already. We have never flown to St. Barth but one day we hope to do so. Keep up the great work that you do and that 414 is a fine looking as well as a great flying aircraft.

Christophe, I think I,ve seen most of your videos and I thank you for sharing them. My interests are mostly that of flying in the caribbean. I reside in Minnesota and aspire to run regular trips down there in the future. Curious if we will soon see anymore flying videos. Love your plane!

1- After watching your landing at St Barth's in the 414, I have to say that you are a heck of a good pilot, you nailed it just right .... My hat goes off to you ..... BRAVO !!!
2.- Come on Christophe !!! .... Your videos are very good and I don't think you fly only once per year ..... ??????? You have to up-load videos more often than these, this is no way to treat us, *your fans* :0)

This landing should be used as a training video as an example of how you land at St. Barth. You fly this cabin class twin like a small single engine. Your timing is perfect!

Excellent video. Reminds me of a short field landing on grass with my Beech TravelAir back in 1969. We used a technique coming in on short final with 90& power and close to stalling adjusting vertical speed with throttles. I like your film work. Real professional. I'm an old cinematographer... Sir, I just subscribed. After watching that perfect landing...which caused me to raise out of my seat, and you didn't drive the mains through your wings, I was bit relieved. That's how Navy pilots land on carriers. Great video and beautiful aircraft.

Christophe - cinematographer hère that also flies. I went from Aerostar to Turbo Commander. Agree with the Goldwing guy - have a look at them. Best range, best fuel economy and great short field performance. You can get one into St Barths easily. Turbines are great.
I do believe your co-pilot was a bit "on edge." Beautiful landing sir!

Hey Christophe, I am watching from Germany. So I am impressed about your person, the 414 XX, perfect plane after restoring. The colouring so nice, the interior tastefull just perfect. Did you think about puting turbines on it, or is it absolutely no option for you?
Probably the fuel consumption to high?
And on your St.Barth video the landing was skilled but trained and just perfect. Woow, that impressed me. Also the pictures of the sail race, you are really great photographer too. Of course you have good equipment, but with out any eye on it, the equipment will not bring the pics. So congrat on the whole outstanding great great video. Thanx. I do not understand the one negative vote on it. Must be a person, that can not reach your horizon.
