    Jeez Rich, you get out of a nice Cessna twin and climb into a Waco….I think you do that to tease us lol. Great video and I agree this aircraft has room for a panel update. Thanks for sharing.

    40 GPH to cruise 200 knots seems inefficient. But beautiful aircraft.

    When you mentioned not building them again I got thinking, do you think they would be too close to PT6 money? Given a choice I would choose a PT6 powered single. I have no idea what the 4XX's were new. Just curious. Thanks --gary

      Tough to compete with the turbines for sure, and I think the prices would be too high to get much market share. Thanks for watching!

    I think the 303 Crusader is a very nice and elegant aircraft with its cruciform tail (I had my hands on one, many years ago) but I understand it is notoriously underpowered, some saying unable to climb out on one engine (250 per side). Couldn’t verify that. Unpressurized.

    Hi Richard, Sir, greetings from Argentina
    This is probably the 1st. or 2nd. time I comment in any of your videos despite I´m a long time subscriber.
    There is a gentleman in Pennsylvania State called Jason who has his own channel called "Rebuild Rescue". A few months ago, he was given a C401 and he is on a mission to rescue that plane for humanitarian purposes. The only throw-back he has is that the wings have to be replaced and so far, he´s got no luck.
    Since you are so attached to Cessna´s aircrafts, Isn´t there any chance you can help this gentleman out with his quest?
    It would be amazing if both of you could reach to each other.
    My best wishes to you, your family and friends from NE Patagonia, Argentina, (a dream place).

    I looked at this video originally on my 14" laptop, and I read 'Chino' as 'China!' I was thinking 'that's a long flight!' I guess I need to update my eyeglass prescription. Now, on to watch the flight to CHINO, California. LOL
    You know, Rich, you said Cessna would never build these airplanes again, but I have to wonder. With Continental's CD-300 engine, do you think it might be cost-effective to attempt to restart a scaled-back cabin class twin market? If you updated the 340A and the 414A with the latest avionics and installed the CD-300 engines, except only ran say 100 gallons of Jet-A, you might get a longer ranged aircraft with more full-fuel payload. Granted, it wouldn't be 'cheap', but when a new Malibu Mirage is $1.4M, if you could do it for $2M-2.2M (putting it right under a new Meridian), there might be some people or businesses that would buy it.
    You have a proven airframe, altering the engines to something that is much more fuel efficient, i.e., 9.2/gph at max power, could bring a change to the marketplace.

    • @FlyingwithRich
      @FlyingwithRich  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I shouldn’t say never! It would be awesome to see and I think the diesel would be the best choice of engines. Let’s hope - thanks for the message!

      It’s because it’s fuel injected and no carburetor, also due to turbo who increase the MP
