Hello Ben, Thanks for explaining... Can you give some instructions how can I setup my Roland Fantom X7 to send ONLY 2 midi messages to my SEQUENTIAL OB6? I want to use my Fantom as master keyboard and my OB6 as slave keyboard, I need ONLY 2 functions to be synced with these 2 keyboards, I prefer to not send all other MIDI messages to ob6, because they can mess some configurations on slave keyboard, including program change, sound change etc... I use the Fantom mainly in Patch Mode. 1. Global Transpose, so every time I change the Global Transpose on Fantom X7 to changed and synced on OB6 also. 2. Pitch Band and modulation the same, so when I use pitch band on Fantom X7 while playing to be mirrored on ob6 also. Thanks in advance
Very nice layout for Midi. Nice job explaining the setup. Your videos are very helpful and clear. I am looking into the board now, trading in a kronos and Kurz PC3K toward it. Overall, seems like your content with the board. My hangup with Roland in the past has been their pianos. I had a fantom a long time ago, forget which version it was but I sold it about 13 years ago.. so that should tell something. I am hoping the V Pianos are as good when I get it as it sounds online. The RD2000 action I have not tried as yet, but it appears to get many good takes for users here. Any downside to this board yet for you? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.
Charles V hey good luck on your next purchase. The stand outs on the Fantom is it’s “future potential” the v piano is good but not superior as many may think. My Nord Stsge 3 blows it away along with the Rhodes. The board needs some updates. If you purchase it now, you would benefit by learning the workflow which takes some time. But you could wait until NAMM 2020 and see if Roland announces any updates to the OS.
@@park171 Thanks Ben. I kind of thought the V Pianos may be questionable and personally, I never liked Rolands pianos. I do think though that the V Pianos are probably Better than what was in the early fantoms. I will try to locate one locally and check it out first. The board does have some other nice features which would be good to work with. Thanks again for the advice.
@@park171 I am getting older now and really dont have much use keeping all the boards. I also have a Kawai MP11SE which is to me the best action to replicate a true piano action, in my opinion. I am still considering the Fantom, but will wait alittle while to see how Roland develops and supports it. I might consider keeping the Kurzweil as I have always had a Kurzweil in the mix since the 80's.But, as I said, I really dont have alot of Need for all these boards.
Charles V years back when I could afford stuff like this. I started to buy stuff on eBay. Collecting all the stuff I couldn’t buy back in the day. Now the calling was to just enjoy the gear. But having all this stuff wasn’t the solution to happiness. I discovered diving into its functionality connected me to what make the gear sing. Good luck on what ever you decide.
HIRIZE BEATS so far it implementation is not fully baked. There is not midi list edit a yet. There is midi event filtering. I talked to Sweetwater and the United said that Roland has told them they have big plans for the Fantom. Hope fully they don’t forget to add all the basic features that were glossed over on release.

Your Kronos and PC3k are boath real nice boards. Would you ever consider holding on to both?
