This was such an interesting video. I love how you pointed out how the slight differences in the leaves indicate the hardiness of the plants. I'm new to all of this and just planted a few Yuzu plants and a sudachi on Long Island, and I'm looking to find out what else is out there I can try and what's the best way to protect them. Looking forward to more videos. Thanks.
That’s awesome, I know some people growing yuzu in jersey with protection but the trifoliate hybrids are much more cold hardy than yuzu and it’s cousins since the trifoliates go semi dormant and change color and lose some leaves as they hunker down for the winter. But yuzu is next on the list to trifoliates for cold hardiness. Welcome to the grove!! Much love 💪🍊
@toughcitrus I can't even imagine how it looks in person, so many beautiful rare citrus trees and the volume is incredible. I would have to get one of everything.
Www.toughcitrus.com Will have 4 types of seeds available by next week, citrumelo, citrandarin, trifoliate and a few 10 degree tangerine (yuzu x clementine)
Well, if we are talking orange juice, there’s a lot to consider, amount of juice, flavor, sweet, sour…..I would say minneola tangelo is the best classic Florida orange juice orange. When they are ripe, you can squeeze them into your mouth and get gushing mouthfuls like your drinking a glass of the best orange juice you ever had. Hamlin, navel, Valencia, don’t care for them very much, but nothing is better juice wise than a minneola tangelo. Orlando tangelo is good to but minneola seems bigger and softer for squeezing

McKenzie Orange! My vote!

This is awesome that cold hardness and greening tolerance collide, it like we are all searching for the best citrus possible.
So true 💪🍊

After trying so many different types of citrus what would be your #1 pick for orange juice?
