I was at a ‘big box store’ in Australia and I saw a display of beautiful Anthurium hookeri ‘ Variegated Aurea ‘. They were A$250.00 reduced to A$15.00. I went back a week later, not one was sold. People only want what’s trending on Insta. (Thanks for introducing me to Irene’s TH-cam ‘Leafingaround’. )
For the cheap ones, the variegation and form probably was not as desirable. These were sown from seedlings and each batch of seedling can produce hundreds of plants, hence the fast drop in price. They answer to market supply and demand laws at the end of the day. I would get one though, if its $15
@@onlyplants they had nice colour. I’m surprised no one wanted them. I would have bought one but I have too many now and I these days I’m specialising in Cardiolonchium species. I’m not a huge fan of variegation but I do love the dark forms ( hyperpigmentation ) and the Aureas, ( hypopigmentation ). I’d definitely make room for that Anth. carlablackiae ‘ Long Form ‘.
Anthurium are just so gorgeous. I wish I could have more than the 5 I have but they get so big. I don’t have enough room and also I live in a snow globe lol Great video! 🤗
I asked because there was a seller in indonesia selling me that breed and I have not came across it before and could find nothing on google! But i got it anyway😅 your videos about anthuriums are really helpful! Thank you!!
we actually have it on our green house. but we don't bring it to the event because the plants were too fragile (since depok is hotter than bogor). i'm with @apexfarmhouse by the way 😁
In Indonesia we call it 'Pasir Malang' (eng: Malang sand), pasir malang is a type of sand made from magma or volcanic lava and goes through a rapid cooling process. It is nicknamed 'pasir malang' because it is widely produced and found in volcanoes around Malang City in East Java.
That depends… is it grown from seed or propagated vegetatively? Seed grown anthuriums will have vastly different shapes and forms from its parents, but it could still be an original dark phoenix technically.
Ive seen loads of pure papillilaminums in my previous videos, they were usually mother plant material, for hybridizing. Theres also many forms of pure papi… which can be confusing.
Anthuriums are my favourite aroids,I love your Indonesian hybrids!! You are so lucky to live in Indonesia!!
Thank youu

I am very curious, where they find that plants and how they know the names of the plants?
The original anthuriums come from South America. They were studied and described by botanists, hence the names were assigned.
The types of Anthuriums I love are the ones with the white veins such as A. crystallinum and A. magnificum.
I love it too. I call them silver veins for some reason. They seem to sparkle from up close view
Hi Sean! Have you heard of anthurium Redman? It is a mix breed of silver tiger and dresserli
Ive not heard it but the silver tiger is very sought after
I asked because there was a seller in indonesia selling me that breed and I have not came across it before and could find nothing on google! But i got it anyway😅 your videos about anthuriums are really helpful! Thank you!!
Thanks for sharing
🙏🏽🥰

So many beauties!
🥰🥰
My eyes! 😭😭😭

❤️❤️
I was hoping you would show Anthurium longissimilobum. Maybe it is not popular there.
Wooh I just googled it. Its cute and Ive not seen it. The price on it is insane here
we actually have it on our green house. but we don't bring it to the event because the plants were too fragile (since depok is hotter than bogor). i'm with @apexfarmhouse by the way 😁
@@WisesaAditya1 . Thanks for letting me know.
Thank you Sean. 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄❄️💚🙃

What are the black stones called? Most pots have black stones in. I would like to know the name if you know?

Thank you so much, this is a far better answer than I could have given 🙏🏽
Imust have a anthurium dorayaki now, they are so cute!! What variety is the huge one in your intro?
Wooh Im not familiar with that one, but its in the booth of @karteldaun

I would die of happiness if I were there
A part of me died and is haunting that place lol
my credit card would be red hot haha
Variegated anthurium are still so unattainable in the US. So super expensive, can't wait for the prices to come down! Or perhaps I should import 🤔
Yes the prices are still quite insane. Only a handful of people have it now…
Import from my Etsy 😁
👍👍👍👍
🥰🥰
I wish these vendors export here in US.
I might gather a purchase order this spring so people can get them in the states. Be on the look out for that episode
I am so jealous.😄🙏☀️⛅
🥰🥰
I own an Anthurium Dark Phoenix.
But the plants I own have overlapping ears
is it fake?😭
Anthurium Dark Phoenix original
That depends… is it grown from seed or propagated vegetatively? Seed grown anthuriums will have vastly different shapes and forms from its parents, but it could still be an original dark phoenix technically.
Poor Fai trying to pick his favorite child😂
😅😅
@@onlyplants just imagine what they DIDN’T bring to sell! 🤯
Whats the deal with all papililaminum being some hybrid??? Are there no "pure" papi anywhere?
Ive seen loads of pure papillilaminums in my previous videos, they were usually mother plant material, for hybridizing. Theres also many forms of pure papi… which can be confusing.
The hybrids are much more desirable at the moment because you can get more unique specimens
Wow! I want the name of that red Hoya!
I bet if you DM @namiriplant on Instagram she’ll tell you what hoya it is 😀
kalo uda kecanduan anthurium susah berhenti gak beli tiap bulannya ..
kuping gajah oh kuping gajah
😀😀
I am from KOLKATA, India.

Any distributor ? If you have

🥰
I love anthurium, but I really don’t like the variegated ones…they just look unwell to me. Not all plants wear variegation well
I used to be a bit put off by them, but then I saw some brilliant ones that look like works of art…
👍🏿
help, I cant stop buying anthuriums😆
Haha most people too. Take it easy or slow if you can though. The anthruium craze has just begun!
☕🌱🌏🙏
🙏🏽🙏🏽😀
Not bad if you have budget....
Yes 😀
$332 dollars! No thanks I’ll get them from South America
Haha yes, that is where they come from.
