Amazing information. I am African American but I lived in both countries. The contribution of Jews to Iberian civilization is played down. I don't believe for one minute the Hitler thought they were inferior. It was just the opposite and that's why he wanted to get rid of them. Jealousy! Great video!

The reconquista still continued for two centuries, after Algarve conquering. Portugal kept conquering coastal cities in North Africa ( now marocco)

Santos is the new surname adopted by the Ben Shoshan family from Toledo Spain, who later fled to Portugal after the Alhambra decree or Edict of Granada. Remembering that tradition links the surname Shoshan (Lily) directly to the Royal House of King David. Before 1492 there were no Jews with the surname Santos.

Samuel Baruch de los Santos (17th century), a Portuguese rabbi and Kabbalist.
Isaac de los Santos (17th century), a Portuguese Jewish merchant who lived in Hamburg, Germany.
Moses de los Santos (17th century), a Portuguese Jewish physician who lived in the Netherlands.
Abraham de los Santos (17th century), a Portuguese Jewish rabbi who moved to the Netherlands.
Simão de los Santos (17th century), a Portuguese Jew who converted to Christianity and became an important preacher in Portugal.
David de los Santos (18th century), a Portuguese Jewish rabbi who lived in Amsterdam and authored several important works on Jewish law.
Judah Leão de los Santos (18th century), a Portuguese Jewish sage and rabbi who moved to the Netherlands and authored several works on Jewish law and philosophy.
Abraham Israel de los Santos (18th century), a Portuguese Jewish merchant who moved to London and founded the first Sephardic synagogue in London.
