Lemme guess, a revert who has been fooled by the jahil pseudosalafi manhaj and now espouses their rhetoric? Seems like it. Some of you jahils need to spend more time not speaking or commenting. Ofc I too need to follow that advice, but ESPECIALLY the pseudosalafi jahils. They need some SERIOUS work, serious contemplation, and serious WAKING UP.
What a time to be alive. For the record no, a magic "trick" with cards or whatever other novelty items is not Black Magic you jahil.

Good interview, one thing i will say is don't interrupt the brother too much when hes telling his story, he gets sidetracked and then theres less detail in the interview, sometimes laughing over someone then asking more questions when a person hasn't finished an answer to the previous question kind of throws a person off, other than that it was a good interview.

To the Somali brother, I think I understand the point you were trying to make but there’s no point of trying to justify or entertain something we are unsure of . As Musa said, there are sometimes discrepancies between the English and Arabic translations but at the end of the day, magic is magic.
There may not be ill intention behind a card trick for most people but it could lead into people taking more of an interest in magic and trying out different things and becoming enveloped in that world. Not only that though but card tricks are a form of deliberate deception and that is the main aim of those tricks, deception. Unlike most football “tricks”.

Totally got it wrong with the red kits and blue kits. Liverpool for example. Yes, most people in Liverpool have Irish ancestry. But the first club in Liverpool was Everton (originally St Domingos) .
Everton played in Blue and played at Anfield, but had disagreements with the rent and left to build Goodison Park.
Meanwhile the landlord at Anfield wanted to create a new football club in Everton Athletic and wanted to play in Blue. But FA rejected their request so they took the name of the city and decided to play in red.
It had absolutely NOTHING to do with Ireland. In fact Everton were seen as the Irish club because they fielded a lot of Catholics between 1800s and 1950s while Liverpool didn't.
The first player to win the English & Scottish league played for both Everton and Celtic.

Asalaam Alikum. I have witnessed this myself as a white Brother in Islam, being called "mate" when they make a joke or a quip, instead of Ahki or Brother. Annoying but Alhamduilah, Allah knows best. Us white folk are reverting to Islam in our droves, so respect that. To a degree the Brothers interviewing did at times, but when they started to joke they reverted to mate and making fun of the Brother. Not a good look. Making note about the Brother asking if joking about Magic is good or bad. Am sure I heard a Brother once say to make jokes to eachother of being gay or liking men, is making light of a major sin in Islam. Therefore to make light and jokes about magic, which is a major sin in Islam, is surely frowned upon as well no?

Assalamu alaykum. May Allah bless the brothers involved in this podcast and episode however I do have some constructive criticisms to give. Using the examples of football tricks to compare it to that of some magic tricks is very counter-productive to this conversation on the topic of magic which the Prophet included in the 7 deadly sins. Reason why this analogy is very flawed is because football will never cause harm to the extent of magic. Sihr is kufr and has the ability to destroy communities, even if only one person has its knowledge, which is sufficient to show the difference between that and football so using the example of 'If Ronaldo didn't show his tricks to the people then he's put on a pedestal' as the host did in 1:00:35 is not a correct analogy and should refrain from this. Also, when talking about the ruling of card tricks, I find that the host, may Allah bless him for his efforts, speaks about this quite laxly and may confuse some muslims, e.g., using the hadith of intentions to substantiate the point of it being merely entertainment. This is not something the scholars, such as Sh Ibn Uthaymeen, consider when ruling these playing cards as haraam. For future references, I think when discussing a matter this dangerous is for all members to have done adequate research and studying of this lest you say or give of an impression that distorts the reality of this concept. Barakallahu feekum.

Trickery magic, and black magic isn't the same thing, or even close. One has to do with human ability, and the other relies on the jinn through a blasphemous agreement. Tricking the mind or the eyes isn't unlawful, so long as you know it is trickery. Black magic's main objective is to harm people stealthily, and to gain this ability by blaspheming. The brother shouldn't generalize, or give his opinion on these matters. Rather, he should seek the knowledge directly from a learned Muslim, if he isn't sure. Or he'll end up falling into extremism, and general human rhetoric, and conjecture.
