When it come to filling in the map and exploring (just the way I like to do it) - I like to just run around the edge of whatever island I'm on to get the outline of it. I'll mark berry bushes, crypts, metal deposits, chests, etc. It's so much faster and easier than sailing around.

Last note :) Whenever I put down a workbench at the water's edge, I'll build a small building around it to protect it. That keeps it out of direct line of site for mobs and they're less likely to attack it.

First note, crops wont grow if they are covered. They need to be able to see the sky. Same for trees. Well- it looks you figured that out :) One way to try to keep drakes away is to keep putting down campfires around the base to push back the spawn range for mobs. Another trick would be to wait to take on Moder until you're ready for Yagluth as well. Kill Moder then kill Yagluth will skip over the drake raid possibility :) With all that copper it might be time to put up some sconces so you have light in the buildings.

I believe drake raids can happen right after bonemass, i hope im wrong though. and yes definitely will do sconces soon!

You should check out "Valheim Factory for smooth smelting" by Crate of Bananas. It's a great smelting build that's semi-customizable and expandable. I make it semi-often and always goes well with many of my builds!

@@christianheeter9848 I loved that build by him too! Setting things up more efficiently like that would be an awesome future project, for now I just wanted to slap a few down and get cranking
