T-bone Jones I’m not one of “those” guys, but by IGFA rules, if the intent is to release a fish and the leader is touched, it’s a legal release. If the intent is to boat the fish, and the leader is touched and then the fish gets off, it’s not considered a legal release. Thanks a bunch for watching our show.
What is this legal release? A fish ain't landed til it is in a boat, on the land or in your hands. If you wanted to eat that fish touching the leader don't count. "Legal release" and "officially caught" are phrases used when one actually did not land the fish. The best fishers rarely enter tournaments. That is for chumps who have something to prove.
Great show. Informative. Should just stop calling lost fish "legally caught" for example. Makes you sound like one of "those" guys.
