I’ve watched god knows how many hours of these amazing videos but I think my favourite moment has to be Laura asking “Are we filming?” while doing an impression of Kenny from South Park 😂

I live just around the corner from this gem (41 years). I used to look at the architecture of the building and wonder what tube station it was; Now I know! Well researched and presented! 11/10

Am I jealous of you lot? Of course I am. A born and bred Londoner who loves the tube, 20th century history, trains, you get the idea. Oh how I missed my vocation in life. Thank you, thank you and thank you again for creating and sharing these videos on TH-cam, I have many more of your videos to watch, many happy hours and the opportunity to learn. A grateful Londoner.

A belter of a first episode for this new season - stunning explore. I'm so glad that the Fab 4 are back to enrich our Saturday evenings with explores, chat, knowledge and fun. Thanks to the Fab 4, LTM & TfL for letting this happen.

This station has always fascinated me having read the Betjeman story many years ago. The passenger alights from the train, not paying attention as he assumes it's his stop, and then realises he is at South Kentish Town, cannot get out at street level and is stranded.
Thanks to everyone who arranged this visit so that we can all see what amazing features remain hidden there. Great job with the filming in those conditions.

This episode had the most amazing soundscape! As the train noise fades away, it sounds almost like a choir singing in the distance. Very spooky.

The story is incredibly accurate with the noises, the spiral stairs, the capped ceiling.

This place is very special to me as I read the story when quite young and it grabbed my imagination. It's a story I've never forgotten. Of all the stations to visit this is the one I'd like to to.

I had a feeling that Chris wouldn't be able to keep the 'school boy's excitement and awe' inside. The same emotions which alot of us have. Good to see that he's defo in a job that he loves, which you already could tell from his deep knowledge. Lucky bugger!

The sewage ejector pipe fitting is called a munsun ring , its basically a brass clip for copper pipe that are still used to this day. Often to be found on high end or commercial buildings. The top half of the clip is missing.

It's a function of it being the first visit for the four. The genuine delight of discovery and shock of surprises is a joy to behold.
If you're going to only do actual and not zoom vids, please could we have them using this m o.
None of you is actor by profession so pretending to be peering round that corner for the first time in your life, despite valiant effort to act, wouldn't capture the spark of humanity which are flying off you all without you being aware, straight through the lens and into we the audience's eager brains.
I know that I'm banging on a bit but we are _there_ with you as much as ever we could be. It's stratospherically higher up the spine tingle tower of satisfaction than anything I've seen you do.
More to the point, the toppest of top bananas of ANY YT vid.

      Uptown top rankin.

Whenever we left High Barnet we eagerly waited to get a glimpse of the dirty tiles and see the gap were the platform used to be. Now our Grandchildren do the same as we have told them the story and they eagerly wait to see who will spot this station first as they travel through it.

@Alex Grundon Alex I LOVED it and I bet you do.
Actually there is a a tunnel at Kingscross station that used to drop down from Yorkway to the widened lines to take BR trains to Moorgate, it closed in 1976 bu5 the tunnel is still there.
The tunnel splits and a line goes down to join the circle line just west of KX.
it would be beyond fascinating for the team to investigate this
Apparently it fell into disuse shortly after opening in 1968.

    • @JP_TaVeryMuch
      @JP_TaVeryMuch ปีที่แล้ว

And the other turn left/ turn right tunnels from the Circle line up north, Thameslink to mainline and the link between the Piccadilly and Northern for instance apparently for the moving in of new stock.
Then there's the ones Met/Circ to mainline at L'pool street and so forth.

Undertook many inspections in the locations the teams visit, agree with Laura and Siddy. South Kentish Town was one my least favourite to visit (alone!). To my mind went beyond the purely atmospheric (also creepy was City Road). South Kentish Town had a unique “presence” and sense of foreboding, was always pleased to get out of there!
