Yo, that’s a solid question. AI in outbound calling might help freight brokerages with repetitive tasks like setting up appointments for loads or checking in on ETAs with drivers who prefer the phone. But for cold calling shippers to win freight, I think the impact will be limited for a while. If a shipper suspects it’s an AI bot instead of a human, they’ll likely hang up immediately, so I think we’re still a long way from AI being completely seamless or perfect in that sense.
Do you think trucking companies could use it to there advantage when It becomes seamless enough to take out freight brokers out of the middle man position
@@SANTISIM0 AI will definitely make some things easier for carriers and I’d encourage them to use it, but brokers aren’t going anywhere. If shippers drop their brokers, they’d have to manage relationships with, say, 50+ different carriers, or worse, try to find a brand-new carrier for every load. That’s on top of wrangling ETAs, paperwork, carrier screening, invoicing, and all the other logistics that brokers take care of. Most shippers simply don’t have the time or resources for that. Sure, in industries like agriculture or bulk freight, some shippers prefer going straight to carriers because of the consistency. But for most, brokers simplify everything and save time. Even as AI improves, brokers and agents will still be a huge part of the process because they make shippers’ lives so much easier.
@@FreightBroker No I haven’t I’m just curious before going into it. I’m currently a senior in high school and I’m pretty tech savvy where I’ve created my robotics program at my school and have seen the capabilities of ai first hand
