  • Hyundai Elec City Fuel Cell Bus walk through www.mobilegeeks.com Hyundai is exploring opportunities to introduce the zero-emission bus to European markets.
The tour began in Amsterdam who has announced plans to replace their current buses and lorries with hydrogen or battery-powered models as early as 2025.
Nicole Scott takes a closer look at the bus and Hyundai's plans in Europe for Hydrogen Fuel Cell buses.

Hello from Korea Hyundai Eleccity is considered the best electric bus in Korea

Hydrogen makes sense for longer distances but it is a hybrid approach between fuel cell electric and battery electric. We need to start looking at high emission vehicles like buses that have a greater carbon footprint than was individuals will ever have.

Good to see you after such a long time. I think TH-cam stopped pushing your channel to me anymore.

Thanks! I've actually been publishing less and less. TH-cam stopped loving me, so I'm loving it less. But I miss it, so I've started back again. :)

Geeks like me would be interested in seeing the engine bay or the dashboard controls of this bus...

The vehicle itself may be 'green' in operation but to produce the hydrogen in the first place certainly is not; requiring huge amounts of natural gas or electricity, depending on the production method. This bus may tick all the boxes but it just shifts the problem further up the chain.

You are a fool if you think hydrogen is “certainly not” green. Renewable energy from electrolysis had been demonstrated to work and zero emissions, if not a bit inefficient compared to a battery, it’s still more efficient then oil drilling and refining. And for long distance and heavy pay loads aka the most polluting sectors; you NEED hydrogen because batteries weigh down and decrease performance Exponentially with scale. This is why the US military uses them to half the weight of soldier power packs and extend their drone time from 30min to 8hrs all wile refueling faster for more up time. Then there are the alternative hydrogen generation methods, use surplus power from nuclear or any renewable reactors since hydrogen storage is less expensive it enables one to save more total surplus’s power then battery banks and the tanks last longer. Use microbes to digest biomass into hydrogen. Use algae to suck carbon out of the air and produce hydrogen. Use synthetic catalysts to split water directly with sunlight. These techs already exist and will enable direct hydrogen generation from waste products or directly from sun. Hell JUPITER ways more then 300x more then earth or a bit more then twice all the planets in our solar system put together and is almost entirely pure hydrogen gas. Harvest and ship back for functionally unlimited power in the distant future. Even old combustion engine based cars can be retrofitted to use hydrogen which is something battery electric can’t say. It’s green. Get over it.

Good thing you showed us everything we don't care about a bus and yourself hand gesturing bs, and nothing about fuel cells and drivetrain.

It wasn't accessible to show, I guess I didn't think about diving into the technical details because I did that with the truck, which they opened up for me to show how exactly it worked.
