It costs money to rebuild housing. The city has bought houses and has put 300,000 dollars into each one to rebuild them. But the city has had to take a loss in order to resell them to low income families for 70 to 80,000 thousand a piece.

However, a local told me this is kind of a facade: job growth is minimal and people arent flocking here )(even for the Roswell and MandT jobs)... there is so much visible blight. I like the city but lets face it...there aren't many people coming to live there who aren't locals.
Even Canadian cities are like this. Case in point, Toronto has some of the wealthiest neighbourhoods in North America a mere 10 minute drive from impoverished gang-infested hellholes
