    it would have been cool to remake those original cobra wheels in 18" and 5 lug and update them as if they were made new today...kinda like what they did with the Bandit snowflake wheels...

    Frosted Mini Wheats. Bill's demeanor when asking for a timeline for the paint job. I love working on Mustangs but the kid in me really really loves this Cobra.

    How did the block cylinders "Mic" ? could they have been ball honed ? with standard rings installed ? This is more of a question for us low buck,or budget minded builds.

    Please Do a 306 n/a build 🤞

    • @cjponyparts
      @cjponyparts  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It will be at least 306 but will have a blower.

    Love the project! I want a real cobra so bad. I would have done the cervini 03 cobra style hood though it’s way nicer then a cowl hood.

      svtpower03 that was the other option i seriously considered. I was worried about supercharger clearance and I kinda wanted to stick to 90s style parts.

    I don’t know if you set a time limit on videos you produce, but I’m betting you would get way more views if the videos were much longer and detail oriented for whatever part of the project you are currently working on. I’d love a 30 min video on the engine rebuild and assembly.

    • @cjponyparts
      @cjponyparts  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kevin Vines the assembly videos will be much longer for sure.

    You mentioned adding a Vortech. Why bother rebuilding the T5 then?

    I, would of found a wrecked GT-350 and put that 5.2L Voodoo motor in it. With the amount of work your putting into and the insane list of free parts you might as well go all out. Can you imagine the looks you would generate at the shows! Not to mention what you could sell it for down the road.

    • @cjponyparts
      @cjponyparts  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Scott I wish everything was free but thankfully I have a lot of friends in the industry. I would love a Voodoo but they are just way too expensive for what they are.

    Eight weeks seems like a long time for paint based on what you have already done as far as getting most everything out of the way. Perhaps I'm just anxious to see the finished project. The stock block is good for about up to 500 hp??

    • @cjponyparts
      @cjponyparts  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I want it done right so I’ll just have to deal with how ever long it takes to get it done. I know it will be worth it! We are shooting for around 450hp so the stock block should be ok.

    • @svtpower03
      @svtpower03 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They can last past 500 hp it’s all in the tune.

    How much did the paint and bodywork cost you all? I mean if you had to pay for it?

    • @cjponyparts
      @cjponyparts  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did pay for it but was given an excellent deal since we use this body shop for all of our work and they know this was a car I always wanted. I would expect to pay $8-10K for the paint and body work this car needed.

    Whoever selects the “music” for these vids must REALLY hate their job. “How can we make these videos as obnoxious as humanly possible and ruin otherwise great content?!.... MORE COWBELL!” Smh

    Don't change the exterior, if you don't need a cowl don't use it IMO. Good to hear you are using all the original panels.

      SteveD stock hood was destroyed and I like the cowl look so I went that direction. I would have kept the stock hood if it wasn’t bent in half.

    • @adamn5821
      @adamn5821 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree SteveD. I am not a fan of cowl hoods unless the rise on the cowl is super low

      I had an ‘89 hatch back.... Ripped out the 5 POINT Slow and dropped a 351 Windsor with a Vortec Supercharger and I Fuel Injected it through Wolf injectors. I ended up with 680 horses to the wheel. Then I had to beef up the suspension... We bought parts from Saleen to beef it up and put in traction bars along with a 12 point roll cage in the interior. The car had a Hersch shift kit with the short throw T5 and king cobra clutch... We put in 2 chamber flow masters and the 3” pipes came out through the back bumper...Back then we only had H-Pipes and edelbrock headers.... The car was doing low 10s on the Sears Point quarter mile... That was 20 years ago.... Today I drive a 2017 GT 350 Shelby... Man how the times have changed. I never would of dreamed that Ford would build a car like the GT 350 Amazing....
