Without Anime, the Matrix would never exist. Ghost in the Shell, X1999 are the 2 main influences in which they completely ripped off. That aside i still think The Matrix is the best action movie done from Hollywood.

Keanu is the rare person you've never heard one negative remark made of him. He's had a wonderful career and you can tell by this speech he's absolutely loved by the people that have been blessed with his friendship.

nikos, This is exactly the kind of thing I was referring to. He has always been a good hearted person and lives a spiritual life with dedication to being a good person. I’m certain had his daughter survived being still born he would’ve then gotten married to Syme and been a fantastic father. Instead he has chosen solitude over heartbreak and i doubt he will ever pursue engaging in family affairs again from his statements after the tragedies he has gone through during his personal life and career.

Very honest and heartfelt speech from Laurence. It felt that he was more happy and excited for Keanu on this honour like a true guru or friend. Both he and Keanu were destined to play Morpheus and Neo. I think what makes Keanu great is not exactly his acting skills (it can be a bit sloppy at times) but his personality more than anything in addition to the legendary roles he was fortunate to be a part of. Some films like 'Matrix' and 'Little Buddha' were tailor made for him.
Man of Tai chi.. Such an underrated movie.. I was really surprised how much I loved how he played the villain in that one. He's one of those actors that can just adapt to any role.

Sooner or later you're all going to realize just as I did that there's a difference between knowing the path and walking the path. Keanu's indeed walked that path very well and may he continue to do so. A fantastic and sincere tribute from one of the acting greats of our time.

What a great speech...incredible insight into not just Keanu but also the people who work with him over the years. Definitely shows that he keeps people who are grounded close as Lawrence Fishburne sounds as grounded as one can be.
I really respect the "father and son" vibe between Fishburne and Reeves that goes beyond the movie screens.
Easy to see why these two actors have such strong on-screen chemistry.

Keanu is very lucky guy he received too many compliments from other people while he still alive and that's a good thing. Usually, we can only heard a good compliments in the funerals. They will say how they missed you and how good you are but it's too late the person is already dead and can't heard anything good about him.
