What a decision to start your career with DSII of all games, I respect that (DSII was my first souls game so it holds a soft spot in my heart of hearts, so much so I come back to bully the Pursuer regularly)

Anyway, fashion souls wins in the end. 45:25 Having finished the DLC before shrine of Amana, I find utterly outrageous that this guy beat Fume knight...Bruh, I have more than 300 hours in dark souls 1 and with Fume knight I had to stop for a moment, relearn everything I thought I knew, and git gud, and then...Big bong, my mace do magic!

The production level, the video editing, the humour, even the subtitles, everything is great, especially since it's your first video. Very relaxing and the time flew by while watching the whole run. The only thing I **have** to say is that the voice volume changing quite a bit during cuts is kind of distracting but I understand that you probably recorded the voiceover multiple times or over multiple days/sessions and it's fine after a few seconds pass. Other than that really personal thing I'm sure most people didn't really notice, I'm really glad TH-cam recommended this to me, really looking forward to more videos!
@@eleumloyceeIf you've got it, Audacity's levelling feature should be a great help in ensuring the volume is more consistent in an audio file. I think lowering the game volume a touch (while editing) can also help put more focus on the key points you're talking about, with less audio distractions. I think Elden Ring somehow rekindled (no pun intended) the older games, and there also seem to be a lot of new people coming from Elden Ring and discovering the old games, which is really cool!

Hey! Heads up about the Blossom Shield, if you don’t have plans to actually block & parry with the shield it is actually detrimental to your stamina regen, due to how equip load affects it vs the bonus given by the shield! Notably the ability essentially makes it only have the stamina penalty of a smaller shield, so it is pretty good as a parrying tool. Cheers!
For the dark chasm of old, I personally would have counted the chasm sections as being in the areas where their portal is accessed. So one section would count as black gulch, one as shaded woods and the last as drangleic castle. If you're looking for ideas for future challenges, I recently tried a Dark Souls 2 run where I could only spend souls I obtained by selling things to Gavlan. It makes you plan out your levels and item management in very unusual ways. Rare weapons make you choose between using them in combat or selling them to contribute a hefty amount to the next level-up.
Within 7 days of your first video, you get over 1 thousand subscribers. You are a rare sort, I am excited to see what kind of hell you put yourself through considering you're starting off with Dark Souls challenge runs. (Especially ds2) Good luck on your future runs!
Loving the video so far, only have 1 criticism and that is audio, not it being inconsistent or anything just really quiet, I'm hard of hearing so it's probably worse for me than most people, not sure if you could render with the audio cracked 20% or something, maybe it's more the input than editing IDK, ofc if it's not really possible then don't worry, I don't mind reading subtitles. People complain that ds2 is too ganky even though other souls games have the same ganks that are just as bad, if not even worse( the room with nearly 10 hollows otw to bell gargoyles in ds1). Being patient is the key in every game, especially here,and yet people believe other TH-camrs that ds2 is ganky.

Hello! Interesting questions, I'll answer them! 1. My favorite Fromsoft game is Bloodborne, the atmosphere and theme are unmatched for me. 2. Hmm, this is a good question. I typically do 'challenges' like this video that aren't inherently difficult lol. If I did a really hard challenge, I would probably try something like no healing on bosses, using only elements that they are strong against to fight them, or maybe just another SL1 lol 3. Another good question! I think I would do a challenge run for Kingdom Hearts 2. 4. Well, I love a good coffee! Usually with just coffee I am good to go, but to describe in detail, maybe with a little French vanilla or hazelnut creamer? If I was really fancy I'd have a piece of coffee cake to go with it, or even some strawberries!
@eleumloycee That's fair. The areas you have to run through are worse than the bosses, though not by much since they all suck. Btw I had no idea about the Pharos Lockstone wall in the Shrine of Amana, and I have hundreds of hours in DS2 lol. 😆 Guess it's time to fire it up again. Though I think regular DS2 is better balanced than and superior to SOTFS, so I'll be playing that instead.

Dear Eleum Loyce In my opinion, you are quite an impressive city. From your towering stone walls, to your snow and ice covered streets, to the frozen tundra that consumes the landscape around you. My only complaints are the innumerable things that tried (and succeeded) to murder me (to death) and the absolutely atrocious snowfield just outside of you, in which the only things worse than the snowstorm are the reindeer that hide in it. The only thing positive I have to say about that snowfield is that it is coffin accessible. But aside from that, terrible. Anyways, you're quite a cool city. 10/10 would recommend.
You should try to have the same volume of your voice through the entire video. I guess you were more or less distant from your microphone from time to time? Check at 19:49 when you go from Majula to the poison area, the difference is huge.
I noticed this while editing, and I'll be sure to work on perfecting the audio in future videos Next time I edit, I'll see if I can equalize the volume of the narration or something

I've got to admit that this is a pretty damn good video to start out with, even if I do have a bit of a soft spot for Dark Souls II! I really enjoy these long form challenge run videos so having another source of them is pretty nice. I do have one critique though and something I think that can definitely be improved upon and it's the audio mixing, you're very quiet throughout the video and there are points where you get even quieter or a little louder than the previous section which is a little off putting. Great first video though and I'm looking forward to seeing how you grow and what you do next.
That's a first video? Now that's surprising. Sure, your commentary is still a bit "amateurish" but that has its charme, and I personally would've made the clips a little longer, but all in all it was a good enjoyable watch. Looking forward for more!
Very nice first video. Couple pieces of advice: your audio is a bit low, use backdrop shadows for text for better visibility and smth that isnt really a tip but the algorithm favors shorter videos (like 30 min max)

Great video, but you skipped the 3 multiplayer area bosses in the DLCs. Gank Squad, Blue Smelter Demon, and Horsefuck Valley.

Yeah, I skipped them because I didn't feel like doing the run-ups
@eleumloycee That's fair. The areas you have to run through are worse than the bosses, though not by much since they all suck.
Btw I had no idea about the Pharos Lockstone wall in the Shrine of Amana, and I have hundreds of hours in DS2 lol. 😆
Guess it's time to fire it up again. Though I think regular DS2 is better balanced than and superior to SOTFS, so I'll be playing that instead.

In my opinion, you are quite an impressive city. From your towering stone walls, to your snow and ice covered streets, to the frozen tundra that consumes the landscape around you. My only complaints are the innumerable things that tried (and succeeded) to murder me (to death) and the absolutely atrocious snowfield just outside of you, in which the only things worse than the snowstorm are the reindeer that hide in it. The only thing positive I have to say about that snowfield is that it is coffin accessible. But aside from that, terrible. Anyways, you're quite a cool city. 10/10 would recommend.
You should try to have the same volume of your voice through the entire video. I guess you were more or less distant from your microphone from time to time? Check at 19:49 when you go from Majula to the poison area, the difference is huge.
I noticed this while editing, and I'll be sure to work on perfecting the audio in future videos
Next time I edit, I'll see if I can equalize the volume of the narration or something

I've got to admit that this is a pretty damn good video to start out with, even if I do have a bit of a soft spot for Dark Souls II!
I really enjoy these long form challenge run videos so having another source of them is pretty nice.
I do have one critique though and something I think that can definitely be improved upon and it's the audio mixing, you're very quiet throughout the video and there are points where you get even quieter or a little louder than the previous section which is a little off putting.
Great first video though and I'm looking forward to seeing how you grow and what you do next.

Very nice first video. Couple pieces of advice: your audio is a bit low, use backdrop shadows for text for better visibility and smth that isnt really a tip but the algorithm favors shorter videos (like 30 min max)
This is an awesome challenge and for your first video it's incredible! With time and practice, all things are possible! As a minor critique, listen to your script a bit before setting it in stone, there are a few moments that just sound a little off grammatically, but its so few and far between its barely worth mentioning lol Keep the videos coming and welcome to the souls TH-cam community!!

@eleumloycee I want to say you can go either side since the arena is obviously the same circumference all around, but all speedruns always go to the right. May also be cause of the position of the AI that causes the fall? Not sure lol
