    couldn't agree more! mine is one size up in the rear and stock size in the front huge difference compared to my old setup. Originally, i had 150 in the back and 120 in front and that was scary AF! lol

  • @TD402dd
    @TD402dd 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    The largest size for the rear rim is 150/60. The front rim is too narrow for anything but the 110/70. You can do whatever you want, and what I showed was the largest tires that fit the rims.

    Hi AC, i currently have the same tyre & size. S20's perform great on dry roads. Really like the different feeling on the 150 size. Inspires confidence to throttle out early & harder around the corners. The minor downside to it since sizing up is the bike has to lean a little bit further. Been using it for 6 mths now, it wears surprisingly well.

    Did you ever try a dual or tri compound tire? You get just as much grip on the edges, but a harder compound in the center strip. Perfectly addresses your wear situation. I was running into the center flat spot as well and tried out some Pirelli Angel GT's and liked them a lot. I think the s20 evos are dual compound, but for smaller size rears they go to a single compound.

    • @ACProductions77
      @ACProductions77  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes the S20's are dual compound softer on the edges and harder in the middle, when the tire was new it was very easy to lean the bike quickly and didn't take that much to do it , but as i started getting that flat spot it wasn't that easy that I could lean the bike and took a bit more to get it to lean that way I wanted.

    • @warlok9
      @warlok9 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      AC Productions Only the z rated s20' evo's are dual compound I believe. H rated are single compound. So you are running single compound.

    • @ACProductions77
      @ACProductions77  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe they are dual cuz if it was single then the tires I had wouldn't of lasted as long as they did. was able to squeeze out 2 seasons out of them.

    Hi AC, Thank you for sharing videos on R3. How's vehicle's performance on the 150/60/17 rear tire? Also, could you share a video of the rear tire after installing?
    I drive in Texas (On an average 50 miles/day, also I don't have other transportation like a car). Summers are hot, winters are mild and rain a few days. I have a nail in the tire and need to change the existing tire. Do you personally suggest it is a good idea to upgrade the tires or stick to the stock?
    And does S20 Evo tire wears out quicker than the stock?
    **Your videos are informative. Thank you.

    • @ACProductions77
      @ACProductions77  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      actually just finish filming a Vlog on the tire upgrade will be posting soon, but to answer you question now. the S20 evo is a great tire it provides excellent grip compare to the stock tire but the only trade off is that they don't last as long as the stock tires. the stock tires are NOT as grippy as aftermarket tires therefore the stock tires are meant to last longer i would say 20K on daily commuting. the S20 evo will only last you one season then it will need to be replaced. also upgrading in tire size will take a little more power to get the wheels moving due to the weight of the bigger tire, if you are just commuting to and from work i would just stick with the stock size. the upgraded tire size does weight a bit more and you do feel more planted on the hwy don't get pushed around as much during high winds. hope this helps

    • @JabezstudiO

      ive seen from another R3 ch that you can go as high as a 160/60/17 in the rear with stock rim & 120/70/17 with stock front rim. if you upgrade your rear rim to 5.5in wide then you can install a 180/55/17 rear tire with still the stock rear swing arm

      @@user-hs2hd7wp9g you're wrong, you can put a 150/60 rear just fine with no problem, the r3 has a 4" or 4.25" rear wheel which is ideal for a a 150 wide tire

      as long as you have the space and it doesn't rub against anything then you should be fine. a 120 ive seen on a few bikes and up to a 150-160 in the rear with the stock swing arm to beef up the stance of the bike. anything bigger & you will have to do modifications.

    • @ACProductions77
      @ACProductions77  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      BIBEKSTER the only advice I can give you from my experience from my upgrade is that you can change the front and rear sprockets to give you better acceleration to accommodate the bigger tire. As far as it tampering with your bikes odometer readings they make a device called the speedo healer that connects to your bike to give you proper mileage and speedometer readings. As far as top speed goes you may not feel a difference but you will feel that your bike is heavier when riding.
