I saw them in July at an outdoor festival in South Tyneside and they were the best headlining act I've ever seen. Kathy Sledge's incredible voice is perfectly intact after all these years and she still sounds like the records. Aaliyah Sharnell, the dancer in the foreground at 1:58, was absolutely phenomenal, I couldn't take my eyes off her the entire time they were on stage.
I was actually sued by my sisters,I did a solo project and I was asked to leave the band. I was sued so that I couldn't perform as or from Sister Sledge, and that was frustrating to me. I like singing with a group! I'm not fighting my sisters, but I had to fight for the right to sing our songs Must have been sad for Kathy
The LEAD singer of the majority of their hits and the lead singer of the Rodgers and Edwards' hits, minus Lost in Music. The We Are Family album was a launchpad for Kathy's talent, since the Chic singers performed all the backing vocals, not her sisters. She should have gone solo at that time and let them paddle their own boat.
