Reminder for some NPC fav gifts i can remember off the top of my head, Abigail loves amethyst, pumpkin, and golden pumpkins, Maru likes strawberries, gold bars, batteries, and iridium bars. Sam likes Pizza and Cactus, Shane likes Beer, Pizza, and Pepper Poppers, Emily likes Amethyst and Turquiose, Haley likes sunflowers, coconuts, and pink cake, Jaz likes fairy rose, Marnie likes Pumpkin Pie, Harvey likes coffee and pickles, elliot likes pomegranate, the wizard likes void essence and light essence
I'm pretty sure the golden pumpkin is a universal love. Another interesting love is Penny, who loves poppies, but every other person hates them (I think poppies are associated with the remembrance of soldiers and it's implied that there's a war going on within the lore.)
Turning the bug meat into bug steaks is actually not that bad even if it probably taste awful. In any case, the "kill 80 bugs" slayer goal gives you a great but but a bit iffy looking weapon that is worth it. Never sell the copper ore though, at least refine it to bars first, it will increase your earning. You could also make tappers from them instead and place on trees, on maple trees they give maple syrup every 4 days which can be used as a nice passive income or you could use it to build some beehives for honey. Refining raw materials will usually earn you a lot more then selling them as is. I would suggest you grow some melons and blueberries for summer, they are both tasty and will earn you money & farming XP. You kinda need farming XP to unlock the sprinklers. Watering crops can get rather tedious. Farming XP is also the way to unlock the preserves jar and cask who doubles respectively triple the value of whatever you put in them. Since you seem to be going for a small farm, that will allow you to still earn some good money without planting too much. The summer squash is pretty meh but free.
Those little book symbols in the library means you’ve discovered those books and you can read them! They’re found when you hoe the wiggly worms around the town.
You asked if there was a way to see how many slimes you've slain. If you go to the adventurer's guild, there's a notice on the wall next to the fireplace. Regarding the mayonnaise, it's a good way to make enough money to buy a bunch of pigs, that's where the real money is (until you start making wine of course) Also, oddly enough, today is Pierre's birthday in my game too 😂
Cheese is also earning you a lot of money though and you will need the barn to get pigs, the coop is a different thing and not bringing in as much cash. The only problem is that she will need to upgrade her axe to copper since she needs hardwood for the cheese press.
passing out right next to your bed is a rite of passage haha you're truly one of us now! i am so invested in this series now, ngl ❤
