      hes got that tyreek/ deebo ability but in a 6 foot 200 pound frame and some gms might want to take the chance on the explosive after the catch player.. i agree tho marvin is all around the best wr prospect ive ever seen,
      i like his mental more than calvin johnsons coming in too he really WANTS to be the goat

      Same kind of claims were being made last year about Tyree Wilson going ahead of Will Anderson, presumably for the same reason, to create story lines and suspense for the section of the draft where there was an obvious pick. Anderson of course was still the first non-QB taken as expected, 3rd overal, Wilson didn't even go top 6, the Cardinals who had a hole at Wilson's position literally passing on him twice, at 3 and then again at 6. Anderson finished his rookie year with a PFF of 81.8 while Tyree finished with a 47.1
      I like Nabers a LOT more then I liked Wilson, unlike Wilson he's a great consolation prize for whatever WR needy team picks after Harrison is already off the board, both WR are likely to have long successful careers. But MHJ is just built different, as you say, aint no way Nabers is being taken over Marvin.

    Maybe, just maybe, ESPN has been hyping up Fields when the league clearly assesses he isn't going to be anyone's first option. The talkshow banter of a 1st or 2nd return never matched what reporters were hearing. At least one team in the market for a QB, Las Vegas, hired a playcaller right after being fired by the Bears. Clearly, if they believe Getsy wasn't the problem in Chicago, they aren't likely to offer much for the QB. Atlanta brought in a playcaller from a similar background to Getsy. It makes all the sense in the world that they would rather look into Kirk Cousins. Let's be honest, Cousins has thrown for 4,000 yards seven times in nine seasons as a starter. Fields has thrown for as many as 2,500 yards once in three and never eclipsed 2,600. Who is going for option B? With what Sean Payton asks from his QBs, Fields is not a real option there. Minnesota and Green Bay have a book on Fields, so I don't see the Vikings going that route should Cousins leave. If Pittsburgh isn't biting, what is left? New Orleans isn't realistic. The earliest they could move off Derek Carr's deal is after the 2025 season. Had Seattle retained Pete Carroll, I could have seen the compete culture bring in Fields to battle Geno, but a new coach and OC aren't going to start a QB competition just to do it.

      Paying a quarterback 5-6 years from now is much better than paying the worst quarterback in the 4th quarter 2 years from now, at least within 5-6 years you can have a rookie qb with a better roster around him.
      Fields is unique? He's a dollar store Lamar Jackson, the flashes Fields have shown are just flashes, they're not consistent and his runs have led to very few wins.
      Fields has failed 3 times in 2023 to score a touchdown against divisional rivals, that's unacceptable from a starting quarterback.

      Bro the cap is 350 million. And you’re acting like those are top of the line guys; there’s teams with a top QB and more money tied up at the positions you mentioned.
      You have to factor in The quite obvious high roster-turnover rate. You have to continuously build through the draft. Plus adding key FAs, that’s how teams are built.
      Say you were to draft Caleb or whichever QB and they get to a second contract, it’s the same issue just farther down the road.

    • @raise1000
      @raise1000 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Bro the cap is 255m not 350m. Yes you are correct but that only works if your QB is elite. Everyone is already saying the window is closing on teams like the Bills, Eagles, etc. Guess what those teams recently did. They signed huge QB contracts and needed to cut many players. Look at the Chiefs, they cut so many players, they dont have any WRs, but they still win because of an elite QB. Paying anyone on your team 20% of the cap is a recipe for disaster. It's to the point, you dont want to give anyone a second contract. Rookie deal, 5th year option, franchise tag twice, replace and repeat. You acting like other starters dont get paid at least 10 per year on 2nd contract. Brisker will get more than 15. Same with every starting LT.

    • @danielreynolds3694
      @danielreynolds3694 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@raise1000 thank you for the correction. I can’t argue the history of those teams you mentioned. At the end of the day it’s a gamble when you pay the QB basically 15-20% of your cap. The Bills lucked out but they’ve also made some questionable decisions; I bet when they can get von Miller off the books, that’ll help them acquire 2 possible starters. The eagles payed Jalen hurts too quickly, don’t blame them but it happened. And their HC is trash… Chiefs are the anomaly imo, but there’s nuance.
      Look at the 49ers, they went to the super bowl but Brock Purdy is gonna have to prove he’s really deserving of a huge deal. Why not do the same with Justin? Why not let make him prove it and if he doesn’t you move on. By that time by trading the pick, you would have bulked up your roster and can test the market or draft again.
      If you trade the first pick to say Washington, they’re not winning anytime soon, then they have to worry about beefing their roster back up. It’s a good thinking exercise at the end of the day lol

    It is what i expected. The other teams know the Bears want rid. Also Fields is still making the same errors he did his rookie year. There are some great plays don't get me wrong but he still holds the ball too long, still has trouble reading coverages. He's not a plug in play starter, he's maybe our coaches are better than yours and we can fix these issues.

    The road less travelled, keeping Fields, drafting Marvin Harrison Jr,. Take an end rusher with the other pick. Get capital for trading number one to move down. A more impactful move for the team,. Plenty of young QBs come into this league and don't cut it. You know what you get with Fields.

    The NFL is loving this because it keeps the league in the forefront. It’s a league that’s greedy for attention. I mean really, the SB just ended and already they are hogging attention with the combine, draft talk, and the Fields soap opera.
    IMO, it’s time for a break from football. Let’s talk NBA, March Madness, and the freakin’ 2024 Summer Olympics!

    Chi. Don't over think this. Trade the pic. It's about building a TEAM. U can get a haul for the Pic. Don't get caught up in having the best QB, SF went to the super bowl wit Jimmy G and the LAST PIC IN THE DRAFT. you just won 7 games. U think Caleb gonna come in and win 8??? Get real the team is a mess. U can get extra pics for the next 10 yrs if u move this Pic. And if fields don't work out you'll have to 1RP next yr trust me there'll be ANOTHER GENERATIONAL qb next yr and the next. If u trade and get the extra 1, u can trade the extra 1rd next yr and repeat the process for the next 5-10 yrs
    (See NE)
    .... now if u can get a 1for justin then all bets off

    People need to have patience. Poles is working his magic and he'll get the best deal possible for Justin Fields. As soon as Mayfield/Cousins get resigned by their current teams, the rest of the league will get very very desperate for a veteran QB like Fields. Cheap, young, some possible upside, very mobile, a manageable contract just in case he sucks more, and currently better then 90% of the Rookie QB's coming out in 2024.
    Let Poles cook. Steelers are DESPERATE!!!!!!! The latest update Mike Evans is signing a 2 yr $52 million extension to stay in Tampa Bay. What does that mean? Baker Mayfield WILL resign in Tampa Bay taking one of the free agent QB's off the board. Justin Fields just got a boost in value. Ryan Poles is playiong XBox series X while the rest of the league is playing Atari 2600.

    So the bears haven’t hinted at what they’re going to do, yet the media is convinced they’re taking a QB 1st overall. Has it crossed anyone’s mind that maybe the market isn’t super robust because they’re not shopping him? If he’s on the roster by Friday of this week he’s going to be a bear next season.

    • @kyledabearsfan
      @kyledabearsfan 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      ive watched every interview, every article, video and im telling you NOBODY knows except Poles and right now, he might not even be 100%. But im sure he has a plan. The guy is smart and is letting the media play the game for him. I think they are going to keep Fields, but Poles has a plan.

    • @Tpplatt3
      @Tpplatt3 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@kyledabearsfanI’m fine with either direction, but it seems like the hype around Williams is so massive that the media has created their own fantasy narrative. That he’s too good to pass on and you’d be out of your mind to stick with Fields. All these reports begin with “the feeling around the league is”. None of it is from Poles or the bears. Maybe Poles wants to see Williams medicals before 100% committing to him, but the narrative has gotten out of control.
