Secondly runway excursion do happens in busy airports but the landing aircraft has a visual contact with the runway and will not delay the Go Around so late and even then the A-380 pitch attitude required for Go- around was much much low. Its 100% animated video.

We came in on a regular approach & all of a sudden, the plane is pulled almost straight vertically to avoid the clueless plane that pulled into our path at the last moment. Kudos to our pilots who instantly reacted & saved countless passengers on board both planes. Closest I’ll probably ever know what it’s like to be onboard a rocket!

I think it’s likely a taxiway across the runway (for example this is runway 1 there would usually have a Left and right so the runway seen is RW1L and the emirates is taxiing to RW1R

This exact thing DID happen on a Jamaica to Miami flight that I was on in the 80's. We touched down and immediately went back up. They told us it was because a plane was on the runway in our path. Obviously it was not that close of a call but when you feel wheels touchdown and then suddenly you are back up in the sky again, it's really scary!

Way to go, Quantas! You most likely saved numerous lives. My friends husband had the same type of episode . He was on the Pacific Rail Road. New young man left work 15 minutes early and did not switch the rails for on coming trains. My friend was widowed at a young age and left with two young sons. Qudos to the awesome pilot. Can't even figure out why the pilot on the ground was headed in that direction and cross ways at that. You are blessed. Amen

Holy Hannah even if it was a simulator as a commenter explained what we are really viewing. there have been many close calls like this in real life maybe not exactly like this but certainly too close for comfort. Bless our airplane pilots and I will never forget going overseas anytime I was on an international flight, the passengers always applauded when we landed. They had so much more courtesy, respect, and admiration for these very skilled people for the lives they were responsible to be assured we were all safe. Americans here in the states seem to just take all of this for granted.

Very very impressive, A380, are insane for size. That pilot probably saved 800 lives right there.... . My dad did that at O'Hare with a DC-10, when a Braniff DC-10 was in his runway... He got thanked by the FAA,(which never happens) and offered teachers jobs. He also got mass and thank you cards from the other plane... I think it was 1990 when that happened... He retired shortly after. I think he saved 600 lives or so that day. He had just come out of a 300 ft ceiling of Stratus, and there was the Braniff.

Coming to St Louis, our plane's wheels hit the runway when another plane came out in front of us. Our pilot gave full throttle and took off to miss that plane. This exact thing DID happen on a Jamaica to Miami flight that I was on in the 80's. We touched down and immediately went back up. They told us it was because a plane was on the runway in our path. Obviously it was not that close of a call but when you feel wheels touchdown and then suddenly you are back up in the sky again, it's really scary!

Way to go, Quantas! You most likely saved numerous lives. My friends husband had the same type of episode . He was on the Pacific Rail Road. New young man left work 15 minutes early and did not switch the rails for on coming trains. My friend was widowed at a young age and left with two young sons. Qudos to the awesome pilot. Can't even figure out why the pilot on the ground was headed in that direction and cross ways at that. You are blessed. Amen

Holy Hannah even if it was a simulator as a commenter explained what we are really viewing. there have been many close calls like this in real life maybe not exactly like this but certainly too close for comfort. Bless our airplane pilots and I will never forget going overseas anytime I was on an international flight, the passengers always applauded when we landed. They had so much more courtesy, respect, and admiration for these very skilled people for the lives they were responsible to be assured we were all safe. Americans here in the states seem to just take all of this for granted.

Very very impressive, A380, are insane for size. That pilot probably saved 800 lives right there.... . My dad did that at O'Hare with a DC-10, when a Braniff DC-10 was in his runway... He got thanked by the FAA,(which never happens) and offered teachers jobs. He also got mass and thank you cards from the other plane... I think it was 1990 when that happened... He retired shortly after. I think he saved 600 lives or so that day. He had just come out of a 300 ft ceiling of Stratus, and there was the Braniff.

Coming to St Louis, our plane's wheels hit the runway when another plane came out in front of us. Our pilot gave full throttle and took off to miss that plane. Scary, yes, after that I have refused to ever fly again.
This was 5 or 6 years ago and we were on a return flight from Hawaii with a stop over in LA..
