This is one of the most impressive wins over Ohio State I'd ever seen by Iowa until 2017. Maybe even moreso because this one was effectively a shutout.
That was the most tediously sweet piece of plodding ever witnessed in a football game. Handoff to Brownlee and he's off! He's at the 39, he's at the 38! Holy cow he's approaching the 37 he makes a move to the 36 and back inside now down to the 35 tacklers giving chase to the 34, but he's wrapped up at the 33 but still plowing forward to the 32 now the 31 and DOWN AT THE 30 yard line! I'm suprised they didn't call his run a technical delay of game! LOL. Gotta love it!
Haha I remember watching my buckeyes get their asses kicked in this game....at least we got our "revenge" I always love Ohio state, Iowa games! Go Bucks!
First off, just having a team like Iowa for people to cheer for is amazing. Let's people let go of their normal boring ass lives and get to sit down or travel to watch their favorite team win or lose. A couple years ago we won a BCS bowl and couple years before that we had a negative record. AND we all keep showing up. You miss the point every time with your negativity. THATS WHAT HAPPENS TO NEGATIVE PEOPLE. You just miss the point of people getting excited for something you don't understand
You are dead on with that last sentence. Ferentz is robbing Iowa blind, and there's nothing they can do about it because he has such a huge buyout. I've seen people get convicted of robbery for less.
Um Iowa has one of the wealthiest athletic departments in the country. His buy out is big to YOU but is pocket change to the university. Iowa can afford to buy out kirk Ferentz twice a week for the next 20 years. You're an idiot that's the problem here.
Then you shouldn't be so ignorant. This game clearly isn't the greatest thing to happen in Iowa City. And you're still hating on things you clearly don't seem to have a clue on what you're saying, for being so close
@ spiderdragon - it's just one bad season by Iowa, so what...remember Ohio St. in 2011, they finished 6-7 and lost to a terrible Florida team. Iowa has had plenty of success in the last 13 years.
I don't see the huskers winning or even going to a BCS bowl in 10+ years, which Iowa has been to 2 and won one. Pelini hasn't even had a season better then 4 losses. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.
spiderdragon1969 If Iowa's a middle of the tier program you better have a come to Jesus and realize Nebraska is right their with 'em, BTW congrats on hiring the Kirk Ferentz of the Pac 12.
Iowa...bottom feeders? funny. In Ferentz's tenure we've made 6 January bowl games 2 co-conference championships (2002: OSU, 2004: Michigan), 2 BCS bowl games, and numerous NFL talent. Loser my ass.
By the way, as you know, Pelini's first 3 years the Huskers were in the Big 12. If Iowa were in the Big 12 and the had to play Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Oklahoma St, Texas A&M, Baylor and Southern Cal in the out of conference schedule do you honestly think your Hawkeyes would have less than 4 losses per year? I bet they'd have 6 or 7 losses per year. Pelini only lost 4 games a year with the previous coach's players and 2 of those losses were in the Big 12 Title Game. That's quite impressive.
t T t haha remember all that shit you assholes talked about winning out the Big ten and having no competition??? Yeah how did that work for you arrogant assholes go back to the 90’s apparently you are stuck in a time when Nebraska was still good
No, you once again completely missed the point. Why the fuck would you care about anything that's not of your liking. OBVIOUSLY your going to throw out things that trash Iowa, because you think they're a joke because you don't care about them. Your not really saying anything, your spinning your wheels dude. Just respect the game and the fans around you. I root for most to all Big Ten teams. I'm wearing a Wisconsin Badger shirt right now in the heart of Iowa as a Hawkeye fan. Who gives a fuck.
Pelini inherited a mess left by Callahan. He's just now getting HIS recruits on the field as starters. He's been to two Big 12 Championship games in his 4 years at Neb. He's 3-2 in bowl games and has a 71% winning percentage. His recruiting classes the past 2 years have been outstanding and this fall Neb's defense returns 8 on off. and 8 on def. He's accomplished more his first 4 years than most coaches have, including Ferentz at Iowa. You clearly have no idea what YOU are talking about!
If this game isn't the greatest thing to happen in Iowa City then what is, RAGBRAI? I don't see the Hawkeyes winning any football conference titles lately. I don't see the Hawkeyes playing for a national championship lately. Looks to me like Iowa is just one of those teams who overpay their head coach for mediocre results.
And Coach Ferentz is still at Iowa and he rarely wins a conference championship and he's never even played for a national championship! So I guess beating the #23 team in the nation on your home field is the best thing that's ever happened in Iowa City. Woopee!
I actually own a few Iowa shirts but I don't dare wear them out in public. I think I might clean out the cat litter box with them. Just joking. Good luck next season. See you at Kinnick? Bring some kleenex cuz it's gonna be a very sad day for your Hawkeyes.
I think you're just pissed because you have a multi million dollar a year head coach and your Hawkeyes always lose to Iowa State and Minnesota and end up only winning 7 games a year. You Iowa fans remind me of Chicago Cub fans. "Wait until next year. We'll get 'em next year. Boy will we ever!" What a fucking joke. Iowa will always be a middle tier program. Get used to being beat by the big boys.
So tell me, just how many games has Iowa won the past two years? When was the last time they competed for a conference championship? Hell, they didn't even go to a bowl game last year! Yes, Iowa has become a bottom feeder! Get back to me when Iowa actually gets around to winning enough games to be in a decent bowl game. They couldn't even beat Central Michigan last year in Kinnick Stadium! They're the laughing stock of the Big Ten!
Iowa Football: 38 bowl appearances, 5 rose bowl appearances, 1 national championship, 14 conference titles, 2 BCS bowl appearances and 2010 FedEx orange bowl champions (BCS). Not too bad so why the hate?
This is one of the most impressive wins over Ohio State I'd ever seen by Iowa until 2017. Maybe even moreso because this one was effectively a shutout.
9:57 has got to be the best part of that game. "Tate running down the field doing the Herky Jerky"
I was thinking as I watched this again, did Tressel ever receive a bigger butt kicking in a non-bowl game? 2004 was one of my favorite seasons.
I think after this game was when Troy Smith officially became the starter
Nice to see ur uploading again! keep um coming lol i love watching these .
GO HAWKS!

I second that!!!! Can watch a bunch of these til September!!!!
this game changed both teams seasons that year.
Haha I remember watching my buckeyes get their asses kicked in this game....at least we got our "revenge" I always love Ohio state, Iowa games! Go Bucks!
Not one of our best moments but we still beat michigan that year.
Ohio state Buckeyes vs Iowa hawkeyes 2004 Brad nessler bob griese lynn Swann
Iowa doesn't always beat Ohio state..........but when they do its usually by 4 touchdowns...lmao

Hawkeye ruled Ohio State in a rout go Hawkeyes
I beg to differ.. It was the Sam Brownlee run on 3rd and 10 for 10 yards that took him 10 seconds..
You are dead on with that last sentence. Ferentz is robbing Iowa blind, and there's nothing they can do about it because he has such a huge buyout. I've seen people get convicted of robbery for less.

Lynn Swann, WE'RE IN IOWA NOT FUCKING WESTERN NEBRASKA

@spiderdragon The Chicago Cubs now have the best MLB record... And last year was alright. So hows Nebraska's MLB team? oh.
bruh
Caverman it's now pretty obvious that Nebraska is a bottom tier big term team
Diamond Cavern ;

The only part of this video anyone needs to watch is at 9:55
Well, at least you've made it apparent you don't know what you're talking about and are completely out of place. "You're out of your element, Donnie!"
spiderdragon1969 If Iowa's a middle of the tier program you better have a come to Jesus and realize Nebraska is right their with 'em, BTW congrats on hiring the Kirk Ferentz of the Pac 12.

26 hawkers in the NFL. 4th most in d1 football
People are jealous of Iowa that's why they say the shit and hate us. Probably because we've ruined their Saturdays.

Iowa stands for Idiots Out Wandering Around
O-H-I-O-W-A
By the way, I live in Iowa as well. Just south of Iowa City actually.

How did that turn out for Nebraska
If this game isn't the greatest thing to happen in Iowa City then what is, RAGBRAI? I don't see the Hawkeyes winning any football conference titles lately. I don't see the Hawkeyes playing for a national championship lately. Looks to me like Iowa is just one of those teams who overpay their head coach for mediocre results.

You're salty because your team is the new Minnesota.
Back in 1981. Iowa is 0-3 against Nebraska the last three times and the scores have been 42-7, 42-10 and 20-7. Not too impressive for Iowa.
I actually own a few Iowa shirts but I don't dare wear them out in public. I think I might clean out the cat litter box with them. Just joking. Good luck next season. See you at Kinnick? Bring some kleenex cuz it's gonna be a very sad day for your Hawkeyes.
