Great tips as usual. Its just a pity that I don't still live in Sussex and I'm not about 20 years younger! Don't have to ask what you had for supper, bet they tasted fabulous.
Outstanding Matt, well done! Another master class. You have the perfect mix in your content, I am always looking forward to the next video, the tips and analysis are so helpful, and the drone shots add another dimension. For my money, you are far and away the best sea angling channel, so please don't stop!
Hi Matt Great video I do like the drone footage and section on the watercraft one of the good things about your channel is the education Keep up the great work
@@jontaylor3220 thank you - I’d imagine the video won’t get as many views with the new format but people that are really in to bass with lures will appreciate it
Great video love all the knowledge you gave were the Bass hunt because that's years of experience and hard work by yourself and to share it with the public , that's fantastic well done and much appreciated, Thank You 👏👍
Great video. Interesting that clear, sunny conditions aren't good for where you are. I fish marks in SW Scotland, and have had most of my fish in exactly those conditions up to 8lb. I think the fish possibly get used to the prevailing conditions around them, as the area I fish doesn't have coloured water that often during the summer months.
High Matt, yet another great video and some some lovely fish 🐟 too. They seem to say big brother is watching 👀 🤔 I think in your case it's MI 5 seals 🦭. lol. Cheers mate Les.
Another great video mate , I myself fish for bass quite often and always find your videos very informative and helpful .. much appreciated , keep up the great work bud
This might be the single best watercraft video I've ever seen. Next level teaching you're doing here with the drone stuff and the xes showing where they're sitting. TH-cam channels showing gear and people catching fish are two a penny but I haven't seen anyone else doing this so massive biggups!
Hi Matt. Great video as usual. I have one of those backpacks back in Portugal and I can confirm that it's really good quality. It doesn't help catching more fish though 😂
Great video! Thank you, showing information on how the bass hunt and tips like they stick to one side of a reef are very helpful and would love more videos like this one 👍🏻
@@SaltwaterAngler I am based in Switzerland so only get to fish in the salt a few days a year. Watching videos like this bring it all back to me. Haven’t caught a fish in the sea since 2015! The trout are much more obliging

Thanks that’s useful feedback - it’s hard to get some of the water features and movement across in video but I’ve got some ideas that might help coming soon
Hi Matt, hook in hand sounded painful, hope you're on the mend. Please keep making this kind of video, your knowledge of shore watercraft is very helpful and the drone footage is really interesting😎👍
Matt I know exactly what you mean when picking up the landed bass ..your just waiting to get spiked..had a lovely 5 pound last week and 2 skoolys the week before and both spiked my hand when retrieving them ..both hurt I can tell you. Gloves are a must from now on I reckon?
Hi Matt great video and always a learning experience, some lovely fish caught on the lures I'm going to have a go myself this coming weekend. All the best mate 👍
Great video Matt and encouraging to see you catching fish in what looks quite murky water? Can’t remember when we last had a decent run of clear water here on the East Kent coast.
Always great videos, this one was no exception. Rather than de-barbing, what do you think about the use of single hooks instead? I have gone to single hooks. Less to get stuck in your finger and less to damage the fish. Less successful hooks up too mind you, but a reasonable compromise for the welfare of the fish is the way I look at it. I know de-barbing has a similar effect, but wondered what your views maybe on this?
Good points and have talked at length and you make those points Really well. Bit of everything in my tackle box from singles , to trebles ! Lost some good fish to singles and rare to have a problem unhooking trebles.
Superb video Matt. Seems like you have seal friends also. I have one who always appears when im fishing. You just cant beat sea life. That happened me couple years ago. I always put singles on my lures and was using shallow diver and bass moved and got treble hook right through thumb. Went to hospital to get it out, took 5-6 people all in consilltation with eachother to get it out. Why I always wear gloves bass fishing and always use pliers to get hook out.
Just recently discoverd your channel, and your bass videos😁. I really enjoy them👍. Kinda jealous about the spots you are fishing; here in the Netherlands it is either beach or industrial landscape (Europoort / IJmuiden) for bassfishing. Nice bass, mind you, but no the most inspiring sight😂. Did you mirror the images, at around 6:30? Or are you really ambidextorous (and so is your rod🤯)?
Some beautiful spots you fish at! What spots near Brighton would you recommend for Lure fishing? I've recently started and tried The Burrells at Shoreham Beach, Rottingdean, and East and West of Marina. Would appreciate any spots you could suggest.
There are so many worth exploring - I would always recommend the East wall because it’s safer. Hard for me to give locations that require climbing and being cut off at high tide-
I want! 😂 Ok Matt, my gf thinks I need to get outside more and says I can go fishing at the weekend. I've lost most of my lures and leeder, but she says buy some. What should I get ify total budget is 50 quid?! I'm around Folkestone area so Vis usually a bit worse. Thanks, hope your hand isn't too sore.
Thanks - a few Weighted shads in white Spool of Seaguar 18lb you are good to go - Wait for a few Northerlies and dont be afraid to fish in cloudy water
Yes cheers..just making some purchases..would a patchinko work this time of year or do they tend to be warmer weather, calmer water lures? Enjoy watching your videos by the way..very inspriring..keep it up, they're all appreciated.
Good evening, I am from Greece, specifically from Chalastra. Which fishing rod do you have in this video, and how much do they cost if I want to order both the rod and the reel from you
For sure get rid of the barbs, I have flattened all of them while fishing for Seat Trout and Bass in Scotland. It’s a big fine if you kill a sea trout and get caught with a barbed treble hook.
I dunno I just can't really get on board with the idea of lure fishing. You seem to have caught the bug in a big way! I don't like that you gotta rely on some manufacturer to make some magic bit of plastic for you., and you have got to buy a whole bunch of them at great expense. I looked up one of those lures and it was £20.. and I'm sure some are way more - ridiculous! I'd only get them snagged immediately on the reef whereas I reckon I could make a hook out of some wire and feed myself if my life depended on it. If the lures were something you could make yourself that would be something totally different. I'm not saying there's no skill to it, there clearly is. I'm fortunate enough that, after much hard work figuring out how, I can catch many bass with good old fresh pumped lug with a pump I made myself. Can't beat that for satisfaction.
@@marklloyd6433 thanks mate for such a thorough comment. Some lures are £35! It’s worth remembering bass won’t take lugworm when they are preoccupied on bait fish and visa versa. Big bass are more likely to be caught on bait ! Pros and cons all round . I’ve lost 3 lures this year at £18 ! In its infancy lure fishing involved using a cut of mackerel skin ! The great thing about saltwater angling is the variety of methods! Thanks again
By far one of the best video formats. Arial drone shots with point of view of the same marks is great!
