Wait till you try to renew your home owners insurance. Will it double, triple or will the insurance companies not renew policyholders. This could be a future story for you to follow-up on.
The area around 59 @ Crosstimbers was hit real hard. Hopefully the city helps that area out just as good as they do in the more affluent areas of Houston. Those people are always neglected by the city.
@@Blasianpower2 are you from planet earth? People in poorer areas have historically been ignored or mistreated in all walks of life in all countries in all time periods.
It didn’t help that the ground is so wet from recent rains. It just did nothing to hold the trees down. Especially in 80-100 mph winds. We also lost an oak tree.
There is a great Mickey Newbury song, I wish I was a willow tree. "The Willow tree is strong enough to bend, not like the oak that lives in fear of the wind".
Idk, I had a poor beautiful willow tree fall over during Hurricane Irene. Hated seeing her fall over. Through the night I went outside and saw the ground pulsate as the roots started to give way. Oak and hickory are kings of the forest for a reason.
You know, commentators need to learn the art of listening to their interviewees. We no longer fall for that fake costumed figure that skews questions that shape the conversation rather than letting the information flow from the witness. Its so outdated.

He should be thankful and grateful he and his family were not in the truck. 🙏
He was more concerned that they lost the tree. He made that clear.
Jeez that tree was MASSIVE! Good grief.
The tree looks like PinOak, which is very good wood for cooking on a wood cooking pit, lots of flavor.
Instead of sending that wood to a landfill, send it to be milled and make furniture out if the wood.
I'm glad he can laugh BUT Also that there was no harm done to him and his family.
We need to start a GO FUND ME account for him!
Wish I could have a piece of that massive tree…… Great for wood carving into art❤
Wow, glad your family is ok
Glad you're ok Kevin

Why did no sirens or information help others to shelter?

And palm trees bend in the wind and restraightens themselves. Never see blown down palm trees!

That's why it was a hurricane and not a tornado; widespread high velocity winds!! we witnessed that.
Was not a hurricane. I’ve been through 2 of those here and the winds lasted from 8-12 hrs both times. Hope you don’t have to experience that!
I was very blessed for sure being in my and I wasn't picked up and tossed in these strong winds. 📿🙏🤯🙏📿🤯
Insurance Co. isn't going to like this...nope, sure ain't...

For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.
Let those who cut it up have it for firewood and not waste more than necessary 😊

Sue your governor.
Why she isn't wearing shoes?? She's still taller than him.... All that leg, Texas.....
Goes top prove the age old adage...."those who live by the weather, die buy the weather".
