Welcome Back! This is Matt and I love turning trash into CASH. It is Nacho Stuff but that doesnt mean someones trash can't equal cash. You see, many people have abandoned all kinds of random treasures and toss them into the trash. We take these lost valuables and figure out a way to make a buck from them. Sometimes it through resell, other times we might just scrap it. Either way, we are turning free stuff into cash. I prefer the curbside scene but occasionally find myself in a dumpster or two. Join me as I try to turn nothing into something.
I mostly consider myself a scrapper or repurposer of things that people have decided to discard. Some call it picking while others consider it a true treasure hunt. But at the end of the day, like most scrappers, I am trying to reduce our waste while lining my pockets a little in the process. Each piece of scrap metal, item of curbside treasure or piece of dumpster loot means one less piece going into our landfills and that makes me happy. I love when you play that music in your videos. Since I work overnights in a gatehouse, once I hear it, I jump up off my chair and dance. I know I get recorded but I don't care who is watching me. I am having fun. 😁
Two things Matt, The weird shaped bucket you gave away is called a coal scuttle, Some folks use them for fireplace ash removal. The other thing is you forgot to give Jeff the reddish flower pot that is in the back of your truck. Unless you broke it lol.
That bucket you pulled off is a coal bucket. It’s used to put coal into the coal stove.

The bucket is an ash bucket for the ashes in the wood stove
No slugs needed for gumball machine. Hit one side of knob with left thumb and then hit the other side with right thumb. Do this a bunch of times and voila! Free gumball or other candy!

If we unloaded scrap at our scrap yard with all the plastic, and cardboard, and trash you throw out our yard would ban us from coming back. Ours doesn't take tvs either.
Mine only takes flat screen tvs. But you have to remove the plastic screen for some reason.

Strangest thing I found was a homemade brass pipe used for smoking whatever. It was attached to a chunk of steel and had to go in as dirty. Good on you for checking on the dude who fell.

I bet your Mum was like "Matthew! what is this thing in your flower bed?!?" lol Good extras in those boxes. The poker thing you had in your trailer at NFJ's was an umbrella stand. The base is cast so the water doesn't rust it through and it's heavy so it does not tip over with all the umbrellas and walking sticks - I let you off not recognising it as you get very little rain in Florida compared to here in Yorkshire, UK.

You just gave that old fireplace bucket that sells for $50-$ 95 bucks on eBay and Etsy, I use mine for the ashes from my fireplace and have a bucket with a lid that matches for the coals that are still hot.

That was a good run, good weight. I started scrapping again. Not every day. I'm 65, it keeps me in shape and it's kinda my therapie. I work at my own pace. I enjoy myself and make a little cash. Have a good one, I'll be watching.
