I have the Bontraeger Specter helmet and I never paid attention to the lack of protection at the temple(s). This is concerning to me. I do like the helmet and think for the road it's still one of the safest helmets on the market. Great video.
I don't ride the distances this guy does but I already have a neck condition so his comments concern me about losing necl rotation while riding with one of those helmets. Additionally, he is one of the few I have listened to who think that the air flow is satisfactory on WaveCel helmets. Air flows over them, not through them. It's air flow is way more restricted even than Bontrager's non WaveCel MIPS helmets let alone those from other manufacturers. I believe that your head's temperature will definitely increase if you use a WaveCel and heaven forbid you wear one in one of the southern states during the Summer. You'll bake!
The prices on all the wavecel helmets are all over the place, and don't include all the same features, there is two mountain bike helmets one is 300 the other 150...go figure...

Wavecell over hyped .MIPS still tests higher by Virginia tech by a fairly big margin
