Not that your finances are any of our business, but I find it really inspiring that no matter your situation you are always striving to be frugal while still maintaining quality in your diet. I really just think your priorities are so completely in order. I have so much respect for you and your family.
I agree, and it health is a number one priority for your family. The reason why I say that is I am a 68-year-old woman and 5 years ago I found out I had colorectal cancer which kind of did not surprise me because I always had problems with preservatives additives anything that didn't belong in what we were eating! I would look at the back and see the ingredients count and try to figure out now why would it need this or why would it need that added to it this should be a vegetable with maybe a tiny bit of salt cooked and serve we don't need flavor added and preservatives and all kinds of things and I truly feel that had a hand in me getting cancer for sure! Mother nature gave us beautiful bounty to eat and didn't say hey this would be good to eat except for you need to add all these unhealthy unnatural things to it! I feel that you are raising a tribe of healthy Christian loving children / adults that are going to go out into the world, and make this world a much better place through there Christianity and their loving and kindness and also for people to see what they stand for and that includes eating that we need to eat healthy and grow healthy bodies! You are all such an inspiration to me and when I am down I love to get on your channel and just see all those happy smiling faces and the love flowing out! Jan, Wenatchee, WA ❤️
It biggest cost they have is hay, depending on how much it is a ton, in their area, fed right they will probably go 1/2 to ton depending on grass in a month… on months with pasture no hay… I put area it runs $200-$250 a ton
If you enjoy making these items (aka as Little House on the Prairie) then go for it. Each diet coke BTW, has the aspartame equivalent of 6 teaspoons of sugar, and aspartame is definitely addictive. I had problems with it in my teen years, went off cold turkey, never went back. Try ice tea, has sugar, but no aspartame (Pure Leaf). Juice is best, pomegranate, orange, Mango, watermelon (easy to make at home). ❤
I love that you show that you get diet coke, you always say its a bad habit and I know you get flack for it online, but its nice to see youtubers not pandering to haters and not trying to over polish their content
Great grocery haul. I’ve made refried beans using a crock pot. Throw in dried beans, onion, your favorite spices. Cook for hours. Use an immersion blender. Done. Very tasty and easy.
Happy new year, Sarah! Love from New York. I’m a Christian and I know that you are and I’m asking you to pray for my son. He’s been ill for a year and a half now with his heart! He’s my only boy 44 years old. A good boy don’t smoke, 😢drink or anything. He had a pacemaker put in but still doesn’t feel well. Can’t even work because of dizziness, lightheadedness weakness in the legs. Doctors don’t know what’s damaging the heart. Can you please put him in your prayers? I believe in the power of prayer. His name is Jack. I really would appreciate it and God bless you all! 😇❤️🌺🙏
@@joanntessel1026 I just prayed for Jack. Believing that God will give the doctors and his family wisdom to know what to do and for healing. Thanks for sharing!
It always cracks me up when people start ripping you apart for what you’re buying but the grocery hauls are some of the most viewed you tube vlogs. The vast majority of people don’t eat anywhere near healthy so it always makes me laugh reading the comments about your Diet Coke 😂
Watching your grocery hauls have become such a comforting habit for me, I have no idea why haha. I just love watching you take on such a huge task for your family and for a whole month at a time! Doing everything for His honor and glory, you guys will always be blessed ❤
I have been a LONG-TIME rut with adequately preparing meals for my family - I seem to be going to the store way too much and never having what I need on hand to prepare a meal for all 6 (going on 7!) of us. I have watched you on and off for years (sometimes binge-watching!) and I know you do a big monthly grocery haul, which is always something I want to do for my family. I never feel like I know much to buy. I am deciding right now to basically COPY your haul - or, at least, however many you buy, I need to base my haul off yours. There is a lot of overlap in what you cook, and what I would need. Thank you for showing me this haul!!!
My kids would take refried beans and mix in cheese and salsa. They would make a dip for chips. I figured it was an easy high protein snack. Good choice!
We are slashing our grocery budget in half this month, eating through what we have. We have a huge goal of paying off our house so we will be on beans and rice budget until that is done.
If you find you have excess tomatoes 🍅 dice them up and put them in portioned freezer bags, then you can pull them out to add to your spaghetti sauce or other tomato based meals♥️
Will you make a video about how you make your kombucha? I’m so encouraged when large family moms make feeding their family healthy easy and practical. Would love to see your system
My favorite BBQ sauce is from my aunts school annual fundraiser called ribfest! It’s in the church parking lot and enjoy all you can eat ribs, corn picked that morning and rolls from all the church ladies! 2 Tbs apple cider vinegar 4 Tbs Worcestershire sauce 1 C ketchup 1 C brown sugar 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper You can cook it down in a sauce pot on medium low to your desired thickness or serve as is if you don’t mind a looser sauce.
Man time flies! I remember when Destiny was born back around when I first started watching. Congratulations on your son’s marriage, happy new year and may this year offer you many more blessings! 🎉
How fun to see your haul, Sarah - I am working hard to better steward our grocery budget after several months of being willy-nilly. Thanks for the inspiration! ❤ xo
Have you ever thought about growing cilantro in your pantry window? Maybe a grow light if it’s not enough sun? I think it’s pretty easy to grow! Just a thought! Love you videos and glad you were able to reduce your budget!😊
Yea! Sarah’s grocery haul on a budget!❤ I have a small family, your hauls are inspiring for menu plans! I’m trying a low/ no spend year! I love it when you say, ‘we are a large family and we all eat here!” 😂 Hope to soon see, what’s for dinner. You have the best variety of meals!

🙌🏻Stocked on groceries today. I was sooo excited to see that the bacon crumbles were not discontinued and only had a package change! Grocery day for me would be nice to have helpers around. I’m pooped after putting everything away. I only buy groceries every three months. I might make it through four months this time around. I make loaves of banana bread, and freeze them. It’s a lifesaver on days I don’t feel like cooking breakfast.
I enjoyed your video and a home with kids playing laugh and being loud is a home with filled with love. Sara you should write a cook book. Have blessed day
I just watched what I think is an older video where you had the 10 pounds of blueberries. To freeze them just wash them, pick out any stems and bad ones. Lay them out of kitchen towels droll them around to dry them. Put them in bags and freeze! So easy! You can freeze them on cookie sheets before bagging but we never have that much freezer space. Enjoy!
I am so HAPPY for you and your family, being BLESSED to have a bigger house built, because your family deserves it, because you guys are such a NICE, LOVING FAMILY ✝️🙏💕🇺🇸
I absolutely love the baskets on the wall. I sure do wish my groceries would go down. I'd love for you to show us your process when making cottage cheese, yogurt etc.
It's always so refreshing to watch your videos - I always leave inspired to cook more wholesome food for the family and just eat better in general (Am with you on the diet coke - sometimes.. sometimes you just need one to get by!)
I'm so impressed with how you've been able to build up a pantry. I've been trying to do that bit by bit, but my goodness, it's hard! Especially on a budget.

@@OurTribeofMany Are there any other costs related to keeping dairy cows? Do you figure the start up costs out of your budget anywhere (cost of purchasing cows, shelter, fencing, milking equipment, etc.). What about vet care, hoof care, minerals? Does Eli get paid for his work? Maybe you covered this in another grocery video and I missed it, but those hidden costs have to come from somewhere, right? The dairy where you previously purchased all your raw milk certainly wasn't making that much in profit with what they charged you? They were recouping their expenses, which you now have. Hi Sarah, just wanted to share my beans recipe. Mayocoba Beans 2lbs ,jalapeño 2-3 whole, 2-3 tomatoes cut in half, 1 whole onion cut in half, 3 garlic cloves, one whole bundle of cilantro, chicken bouillon 2 tbsp you can add more depending on how much water. I used instant pot and filled to the max label. No soaking takes about 1hr.
Excellent! We are also on savings mode this month! Also, I wanted to let you know that I have found that arrowroot seems to go off quickly. When it goes off, it has a sharp, metallic taste. For this reason I recommend storing it in the freezer.
I can't use cilantro fast enough so I started buying an extra bundle or so and blend it with a bit of water and freeze it in gallon sized bags to use later and break it when I make ndengu and cilantro lime rice. I have save a lot by doing that and switching from scallions to dried chives but I think that one takes time to acclimate for some.
I'm Lebanese and we use a lot of cilantro in our stews. We buy in bulk wash, cut and freeze. No need to add anything else. I just break off a hunk anytime I need some

I'm Lebanese and we use a lot of cilantro in our stews. We buy in bulk wash, cut and freeze. No need to add anything else. I just break off a hunk anytime I need some
If you ever buy a freeze dryer, that actually makes great refried beans when you reconstitute them
