I would've cut the mounting slots vertically. Also, curious why the outer edge wasn't trimmed to fit with the bit when it outlined the project? Seems like offsetting it deeper would've removed the excess and saved you the bandsaw step. Nice work.
Great video. Can you provide a link to the exact foam board you used and what is the cost of it? I found a place that sells 1" for over $450 a sheet. Thanks.
Hi, really cool project. How did you programmed the roughing toolpath with the downcut bit and the finish pass to follow with the V bit in Vectric? Thanks
Thank you! It's always hard to say with projects like this as the filming and video editing side of things really takes the majority of the time. If I weren't filming it I would say the project could be completed with about 10-12 hours of work with extra space in there for the paint and finish to dry.
I made a square with a .0003" height, then deleted the left side of it. I then set it as a profile toolpath on the line so it would plunge go to the right, then back and out the same hole.
@@BobBob-eh5sb Sorry. Was asking about the HDU. Those Stepcraft are nice but crazy expensive. I just ordered an Avid CNC which is expensive, but not as nice as the Stepcraft.
Im not gonna lie i really enjoyed watching you spending time with your daughter more than making that sign.keep up the good work✌🏻✌🏻
Thanks.

Great video - love the love in the web-whacking section!
You can also add positioning tabs on your CNC bed, flip the material over and do a 2 sided cut
Really neat, those bits are worth having.
Awesome sign, great idea!! Wish I had a CNC or could justify spending the money
Haha, I wish you had one too bro!
Find a public Maker Space.... for example Maker Works in Ann arbor MIch
@@ericrudoph3471 Thanks for the tip! Do you have any experience with them?

Thanks for the video. Great information!
You're welcome! Thank you for watching
Great video. Where do you get foam like that? Is it typically used for outdoor projects?
Hi there, thanks! The foam is from www.dunagroup.com/usa/products/foams
What kind of foam you used? They have variety of foams. I would like to carve similar like this.
What kind of foam did you use for this? Thanks, Gary
Could you tell me what this foam is?
It's 20lb HDU Foam
Do you sell corafoam on your website?
Very freakin cool
Awesome job. How many hours do you have in it?

@@ToolsToday thanks for the info.
That's beautiful. What software did you use?
The Vectric V Carve Pro software, available here www.toolstoday.com/cnc-machines-accessories/cnc-software.html
How did you program the keyhole slot?
I made a square with a .0003" height, then deleted the left side of it. I then set it as a profile toolpath on the line so it would plunge go to the right, then back and out the same hole.
Keyhole toolpath in vectric works good also
How much deep you carved?
HDU is crazy expensive.
ouch over $600 for a sheet of tha foam board? 4'x8'x2"
Wait till you see the price for that CNC😢
where did you see the price? I don't see it on the website.
@@JDPat1230 If you’re asking about the price of the cnc, there is a link to Toolstoday. They sell Stepcraft.
