  • First time ever checking out Sleep Token! I have a feeling this will be a wild adventure! I heard they were unique and different, can't wait to see what surprises this band will have for me down this road. This song started off light and clean but finished heavy, very dark atmosphere!

The singer is called Vessel. This music video could be interpreted as his "birth" or possession by the god sleep. Rarely are they this heavy btw. They don't have a set genre. Sometimes you'll get a pop song, a djent song, a rock song and so on. I like them a lot because of the atmosphere they create. Kinda ethereal and post-apocalypticy. Most old school metelheads don't seem to like them much.

I used to be nothing but traditional rock and metal until I discovered Babymetal last year. Now my outlook on music has really opened up and I'm enjoying discovering all kinds of new music. I'm certainly interested in continuing this journey. Thanks for watching and sharing the info!

So, some have stated to go to the third album (TMBTE); however, as other reaction channel have done this only to go back to the beginning (EP 1 & 2 \ 1st album), I would suggest starting from the EPs, then the singles, followed by the album trilogy. This helps shape the story of ST, Sleep (the Lore), and allows the listeners to witness the growth of the band over time.

Subbed to see the whole journey if you keep going form oldest to newest studio songs, I'd love to see you take that journey. I'd say listen to the album versions of songs. Mayve revisit live performances after the album versions.
I'd also like to give you a heads up that sometimes their videos are really just visualizers. I've seen multiple reactors get caught up staring at the screen and almost completely missing what's going on in the song.

I kinda like going from beginning to end with these new bands, even if newer stuff is better per say, I like seeing a their growth and evolution. I also prefer live with a band that puts on a good show with theatrics and an awesome stage setup. Somebody else mentioned to me that ST is known for some wild live shows, especially later on when they got bigger and more money to spend. I might do a double reaction to songs that have a cool music video and then live. Thanks for joining me on the journey!

New sub....im here for the journey! It's a wonderful ride. This is my favorite band of all time and I'm a 80s-90s rock/metal fanatic. I haven't been this excited by a band since Bon Jovi 😂. Looking forward to the journey with you. Hope you googled them and got a little bit of back story. It'll make more sense that way 😂

P S. I would Google the lyrics and have them pulled up as you listen. They don't have many actual music videos, most are just visualizers. But Vessel is one of the most unique lyricists I've ever come across. Their sound fluctuates, some is heavy, some is pop, some sounds jazzy. They are very talented and play several different genres, sometimes in the same song 😂

Many reactors decided to start at the beginning after hearing another song from their trending newer material. The fact that you went in blind from the very beginning is very rare. I'm here for it, and i think others will be too.
Think of it this way. Their albums form a trilogy. You're starting in "the shire", whereas many new fans started on "Mount Doom" hahaha
(And yes... I'm totally pandering to a fellow Tolkien fan)

Subscribed for more Sleep Token! Their older live performances of their EP songs are very good, but I'd say starting from 'Sundowning' (their first album) those songs actually benefit more from recent live performances. Vessel's vocal technique has improved significantly and he throws in more ad-libs, growls, and things like that. And with them blowing up, they've now got a higher budget for their shows, so the performance aspect is a lot better. Someone might recommend some better live videos but I quite enjoyed the ones filmed in Budapest by a TH-camr called Niki Bota. Although that's an outdoor festival and doesn't have the new lighting/stage setup. If you wanted to see that I'd maybe recommend some videos from their Munich gig by Destructive Viper.

@@graxusgaming9889 And thank you for checking them out! The live versions are great but please listen to the studio versions too, if you're able. I won't give too much away but there's a surprise change in the live version of 'The Summoning' (their biggest song) vs the studio version. The live video by Destructive Viper is very good for this song, I'd say.

Jump ahead to the tracks on Take Me Back to Eden. If you fall in love with that, then the rest of the catalogue will delight you. Dont start at the beginning as many will state, thats an incorrect approach. Start with the masterpiece album, then if you like it, move through the earlier catalogue.

Loved it. Sleep Token is one of those ive heard of, but never heard. Not sure how deep of a list of "check out this band" you want. Not asking for reaction vids, but check out:
The Human Abstract - Vela, Together We Await The Storm
    th-cam.com/video/L1n5IWbHqu8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=DYJO2H1-uJPV7xFD
Sleep Token genre splitting moodiness, with doublebass ridiculousness and guitar solos.
Also Sleep Token vocalist and progressive djent-iness of their track remind me a lot of Agent Fresco th-cam.com/video/Cz_z-Ljzt-0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=W2ZPb9IQQScVLCaY
Both of those songs are from like 10-15 yrs ago though, newer stuff exists as they evolved

A talented singer for sure but I personally dislike the singing style. I think they call it "indi voice", or something like that which is very common nowadays (ps I'm only 15)
The music is very generic, musically doll. Far below what old music makers were doing like Billy Joel, Bread, Eagles, etc. I rather even choose Spice girls over this type of music.
The only good thing about the song is the short, loud and heavy riff.
I am not a music expert, I am just stating opinions. What is worth many like the song.
