The final film i worked on in uni was editing a film about a dwarf getting a job on the set of The Wizard of Oz and it went from a film with a plot to a Lynchian demonic dreamscape due to actors dropping out. It was a whole thing, very messy, but I had a great time working on it and I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat because i liked the crew
Fun Fact: My uncle used to do a lot of hospitality for touring artists. He’d get them stuff that they couldn’t easily get elsewhere, if you know what I mean. I think he most recently worked with Snoop Dogg, or at least that’s the biggest artist he worked with recently. Anyway, one day The Wiggles were in town and they called my uncle up to ask him for some of his weed. True story.

I felt like the begging scene in the meyerwits set a good tone. The whole plot is basically just emotional boiling points that we get to so slowly we don't notice until we boil over. The cut after the screams I think more show how we reminisce about how we were when we were angry. It goes blank, you know you probably yelled some things, but it doesn't really matter. What you remember, like danny through the whole movie slowly, is how you got angry in the first place.

Well "Sonic the Hedgehog" is a fine movie. Whatever they want the movie to be safe after the changes that they didn't find spectacular of the Sonic design, it's what they really want to be good and be interesting for most children and Sonic fans alike.
Just so everyone knows, the animation studio didn’t close because of Sonic. It was closed because of reasons independent from the movie from the parent company MPC. Paramount had nothing to do with it. Also the amount to fix Sonic was $5 mil, which is still a lot but not $20 mil.
the Success of the Sonic Movie shows how they tried very hard to not fuck-up in the Writing. ...now imagine getting to see that trailer after all your hardwork. Writer: ...oh shit...

Foundflix is the best ending explained guy because he's funny and does random horror/indie movies which basically means you dont have to see them, or he does one on a film like The Endless, which no one would have heard of without it and thats a great film.
I feel like Sonic's previous design reflects what a lot of creative directors do to make a name for themselves, when they decide to tweak a known character juuust enough to be a reimagining of the initial design.
To be fair, I really think they just wanted make sonic actually fit in the real world. But unfortunately, a realistic blue hedgehog with humanoid features looks terrible no matter what any one thinks will look terrible. But thank you for that new perspective.

From interviews from the cast and crew, they feel very passionate about the film (Despite the budget constraints they had to do the plot they did), and Jeff Fowler very likely used the backlash as leverage against them to change it to what they wanted in the first place
yeah the Sonic movie still should’ve been animated instead of another random guy meets a talking animal type of story we got. idk imagine a Studio Ghibli or Hayao Miyazaki Sonic movie, which might sound weird, but the Sonic games (at least the original ones) have always been about Sonic basically fighting against pollution. and the plot might actually be better than “eh kids might like it”.
People always say this with Miyazaki (usually with Zelda instead of Sonic) but it really wouldn’t work for his tone or style plus he tends to stick to more original, mature storylines. Also he probably wouldn’t want to work under huge studio deadlines and executive notes where he’d have no freedom basically.

I just watched Angel’s Egg. It’s on YT in 1080i (iirc) and is only 70 minutes long. I thought it was pretty great, I’ll watch it again sometime. Perfect Blue is also wonderful, just need to get by some of the spotty animation early on in the film. Otherwise it’s really fantastic. I’ll have to cop-out and still cite “Akira” as my favourite anime film though.
Adum watched Perfect Blue because ppl say that it is similar to Black Swan. He gave it a 7/10 and said that the elements he appreciated in Black Swan were not the same as in Perfect Blue so he doesn't think they are *that* similar.

While I do agree Black Swan is not really a rip off, Black Swan still takes a lot of elements from "Perfect Blue" and those elements were for me, far more executed. Perfect Blue was a far more layered and carefully constructed film compared to Black Swan. Black Swan didn't do much of a good job at showing how the character descends and also that a lot of the crazy imagery isn't as meaningful and it's mostly as just there to show character having illusionations despite not showing that well how the character descends. It just feels underdeveloped in how it was constructed, a little too rushed and I felt more strong emotions with Perfect Blue.
As a huge Sonic fan I wasn't really a big fan of the movie, but I thought Sonic's performance through voice acting (Ben Schwartz was a fantastic choice) and animation was great, and far better than the current stuff in the games with Roger Craig Smith. Glad to hear that even non-Sonic fans actually thought he wasn't annoying.

As a huge Sonic fan I wasn't really a big fan of the movie, but I thought Sonic's performance through voice acting (Ben Schwartz was a fantastic choice) and animation was great, and far better than the current stuff in the games with Roger Craig Smith. Glad to hear that even non-Sonic fans actually thought he wasn't annoying.
