🕵️♂️ WHO AM I?:
My name is Matt Estlea, I'm a 26 year old Woodworker from Basingstoke in England and my aim is to make your woodworking less s***.
I come from 5 years tuition at Rycotewood Furniture Centre with a further 1 year working as an Artist in Residence at the Sylva Foundation, which is where I began growing my business. I then returned to Rycotewood to teach Evening Classes for 2 Years, while also teaching City and Guilds Furniture Making for 3 years. They were some long 12 hour days!
In September, 2021. I resigned from teaching at the school to focus on my own business.

The first half of the th-cam.com/users/postUgkx3ICSK6nSknaL_45CU2NmFSoXjarGMDiJ book is everything about wood: types, tools, finishes, setting up shop etc. The second half is all about doing projects for inside and outside of the home. The color pictures are helpful. After reading a dozen of these types of books, this is probably the best overall (layout, color photos, plans). Only detraction is that many of the projects use a table saw/router/planer, which are usually expensive and take up space, so the plans are less friendly to newcomers and the budget conscious. But I know I can use a drill, circular saw or a jigsaw to make the projects.
A lot or channels would have made a 15 video series of all of this, but you just went ahead and blasted it all out at once, big respect! That's a lot of progress for a single video!
Yea I made that mistake before 😂 get it all done in one video and move on!
I’ve long been an admirer of Robin and his work. I’ve been in the building trade for over 30 years. I’m an electrician, but his work ethic and skill should be studied and emulated by everyone! Well done 🤘
His work ethic is just one of many traits I admire about him. I hope to be able to match his skills and experience one day!

This makes me so happy to see! All the sorrows of leaving the old space are scattered in the wind when seeing this lovely upgrade. Oh Matt. Iv got to be honest your new workshop looks like a dream to me. Id give anything to have a workshop like that where i can simply let my creativity fly. I did like how you included dropping the screws, that made me laugh so hard because most all of us have done it at some point in our lifes. Im glad to see you smiling again Matt, you have worked soooo hard over the past 5 years. You deserve a rest. So please STOP, put the kettle on a take 5 mins to reflect on the past and realise how far you have come and what you achieved. You one of my biggest inspirations Matt and i dream of being as good as you and the other of my inspirational woodworkers one days.

I watch a lot of Robin’s stuff as well as yours Matt and I’ve heard him say “I’m not a joiner” and I’m sure I’ve heard you say “I’m not a carpenter” so I often wondered if your paths would ever cross. You are both real gurus of your spaces - excellent at what you do and crucially, excellent at teaching and inspiring others.
I’m no where near the calibre of skill and experience in my own field compared to where Robin is in carpentry. But I very much hope to be one day. Thank you Gary!

Robins the best carpenter on youtube i can watch him talk through things all day.. Even when i already know how to do them.. Combine that with one of the top woodworkers and probably the best put together youtube videos..... Its win win.

Every once in a while you have people that come alongside you and absolutely eclipse your capabilities to reach your goals. I will never forget those people, and I strive to be one of those for other people as well. I'm sure you do the same in your life, and it's an absolute joy when you get the chance.
