I picked up the 2016 Pro S 800 this spring... great deals... Part of my decision was based on the SnowTrax videos. The only real issue they had was the valving on the big bumps... I ride trails so the Pro S should be the perfect machine.
The 800 is running around 165 hp. SLP offers a power add kit with pipe, and can and adds around 12 hp or is supposed too, and I've heard nothing but good about the pro rmk's stock...but even better with the SLP power add kit and there is no need for turbos if you ride mostly flat land. Stock though it's the most powerful 800 right now, not to say that it's also in the lightest strongest sled. It's pretty much a win win.
I had no complaints with the axys Rush last year, just a face that hurt from grinning too much. The acceleration is sickening, as in it made me feel nauseous with the amount of g-force was implied. That was from a demo ride though, still trying to convince the wife to purchase one haha.
I bought the 2015 Axys 800 60th . Amazing sled best handling in tight trails. When I reached 5500 miles motor blew. Would have liked to have seen 10000 Miles. So pistons should be replaced at around 4000 just to be safe. Or else complete rebuild will be needed if notchecked.
I don't normally comment on snow trax's reviews, but their over-the-top pronouncements on this test ride are laughable. First off the claim of Axys being bulletproof... laughable. The most successful launch of a new model in the previous 10 years...again laughable. Then claims of 165 hp...they Dyno in the 155hp range. The new 850 only puts out about 165hp. I don't even know why it bothered me enough to necessitate writing this other than all the claims are grossly exaggerated.
1 Launch ? 9 basically identical Powered Toboggins. (T.M.) & That's a Copy Wright new Snowmobile Saying l just invented. Yes 9 PT's (Powered Toboggins ) & One Reveal Launch is Cause Polaris is Cheaping Out in Not Having to Pay for or Set up Show Stages for each Particular PT. Otherwise they have to Hide/ include that in the MSRP of the current crop of PT's. To make up the Added Expendiatures. l know this i'm a Finacial insider expert.
Liberty h.o. engine ? you forgot to include the Engine cc Size, Bonker Chessy Name calling crap like the Auto beekers . ecoboost , pentastar, earthdreams, cleanair, etc etc. What's Next they gonna start giving One Liner Name's to the Frigging Exterior Door handles ? then the Powered Tobogging makes will have to Follow suit & Give a Name to the Single outside Rear view mirror.
I drove one today it's a quiet snowmobile it's rides smooth handles well tons of power when you stop than floor it it takes off like a rocket
