You're such a great human being. Each night before I go to sleep I watch your videos because it helps me sleep better at night. You inspire me to just be myself and appreciate the little things in life. I'd love to meet you one day and go on a weireeeeed random adventure with you and Alley. Keep up the great work!
Hey, so I think you're really good at this regular/daily vlog format. I hope you continue to do it, and I hope your viewership increases to the point where you can earn a good living from it - if that's what you want to do.
And yes, I realize the declaration of independence was signed in 1776, I was just looking up at that big number two and had a total brain eclipse. Lol.
I'm from the Harrisburg/Hershey, PA region and we participated in the Cow Parade around 15 - 20 or so years ago. The idea is that a municipality is provided with a bunch of cow statues that local artists then decorate. The cows are displayed randomly around town for a year (supposedly attracting tourists). At the end of the year, the cow statues are auctioned off to private collectors and other local businesses. It's a combination fundraiser and "tourism revitalization" project. Years later, some of our cows are still on display. (Usually only the ones purchased by local businesses. Our newspaper still has their cow out on display, for instance.)
Firstly, I really admire how Justin always (depending on where is) gives a true history lesson about this country's past. Secondly, this town looks like it's definitely worth going to. Third and last, Henry Rollins? That's BAD-S!
CowParade is an international public art exhibit that has been featured in major world cities. Fiberglass sculptures of cows are decorated by local artists, and distributed over the city centre, in public places such as train stations, important avenues, and parks. They often feature artwork and designs specific to local culture, as well as city life and other relevant themes.
the cow parade is a artistic movement around slo where it will give local artists a chance to showcase their talents. The region’s agricultural history, growing arts scene and its ecotourism draw make CowParade the perfect conduit for a countywide event. it's very cool and showcased all around san luis obispo
Can I just say that the gum wall might be gross...but it's pretty cool because of the many years that people have been adding to it, myself included. 😊 Glad to hear that you liked SLO! 😊💕❤ I love your videos!!
Fun vid!! SLO is one of those places I've driven through a dozen times; maybe stopped for lunch once or twice, but never really looked at closely. I never knew about the "bubble gum alley"; both disgusting yet fascinating. :-)
They are actually converting some, areas of the L.A. River back to.its original like state, complete with canoe/kayak tours. Huell did a video on it a year or so before he passed away.
You guys should come to lake George New York They have everything a little vacation town needs, mini golf ,historical spots( two huge forts that are totally haunted) lots and lots of restaurants and my favorite House of Frankenstein wax museum! There is even a scene where they use madame leota's voice. And after words you can get a fun pic with Frankenstein himself
I think Adam showed one of these gum walls in the northeast somewhere once. I can't remember where. At Six Flags over Georgia people would put their gum on trees while waiting in line for Thunder River. I think they put something around the trees to stop that now.
While your'e in the Central Coast, you should go to Cambria, Harmony, Solvang, and the "Village" in Arroyo Grande. There's a really cool guitar shop there called Lightning Joe's. Its like 15 mins from SLO. I live in Santa Maria so I go to San Luis often and I also used to go to shows at SLO Brew. Also, you probably dont remember but I met you at Disneyland while I was watching on Periscope in line for Casey Jr. and you coincidentally got in line after us. It was weird. haha
We've got miscellaneous remnants of the "cow parade" around the area including in our town. That one was so Moo-ving though. Too bad you didn't come up and see us in Cambria.
very mooo-ving. haha. I love your jokes! oh and as for linking the wall....I just couldn't. if someone said for one million dollars tax free and had it right there with them but no...no I couldn't.
Seattle has a gum wall as well. XD I know about a year or two ago they scraped all the gum off but I believe people have already put their gum all over the wall once again. Its been a while since I've been down there. It's pretty gross though. XD
Seriously X( I am from San Luis Obispo, and can tell you that the alley is surrounded by bars and there's frequently drunk people peeing/throwing up in the alley too....as if it wasn't gross enough on its own!
😄I love SLO so much, especially the pathway along the river. Oh, but just so you know, if you ever go to India (or to a place where there are a lot of people from India), the word "mooti" is what little kids say when they have to "go number one.' 😝
There are small Cows on Parade. You can check online and get them on E Bay. My late wife collected them and had a "Herd" of over 50 of them. We didnt have that one tho or I would send it to you.
Are you guys going to Hearst Castle?! I guess I will find out soon enough. I wanted to go for the 1st time for my last B day but it didn't happen. But I did get to go to Solvang, the mission and the ostrich farm with emu/murder birds ha ha... When I saw the Emu I thought of you ''murrrrrder birds'' ha ha... they DO look murdery!?
They won't let me film there. Not without a lot of red tape and payola - someday when & if I have the hookup or I can afford to do that I'll be there in a heartbeat
No amount of money would induce me to lick that! This Gum Alley sure is more extensive than the fabled Gum Wall of Pike Place Market, but then the City of Seattle periodically power washes that so the contributors have to keep starting over.
One of these days the gum will be so thick on those walls will be do thick people won't fit through the alley. Then thousands of years from now, a future archeologist will dig up two walls made of petrified gum and say, "WTF?" And some Cow-tholics might have a beef with Moo-nipero.
Anyone else almost dry heave looking at that gum wall, especially when he showed the strings and talked about licking it? I still have a look of disgust and nausea on my face just thinking about it. lol
You're such a great human being. Each night before I go to sleep I watch your videos because it helps me sleep better at night. This is so cool! I was born and raised in San Luis Obispo so it's awesome to see you visiting these places I've grown up around!
This is awesome! One of the reasons I love your videos is because it feels like you've picked up where Huell Howser left off.
Hey, so I think you're really good at this regular/daily vlog format. I hope you continue to do it, and I hope your viewership increases to the point where you can earn a good living from it - if that's what you want to do.

We know you know Mr. Scarred, your knowledge of all kinds of things is so impressive! You're The Man, man :)
JustinScarred lol
JustinScarred I would never lick the wall
Would love to see you do more Northern CA history videos. Bay Area, Sacramento, wine country, and northern coast.
I *love* the missions series idea, Justin! That would be so cool.
I've contributed to that alley back in the '70's. Good times. Great video!

Yo Justin! you should definitely take us to all the missions in CA!
As always, great history lessons of places some of us haven't been to. Thanks for the post.
Justin you should be the next Huell Howser!! Your commentary is hilarious and you give a new generation a reason to explore California's Gold!
Thanks for showing the first motel. Love stories like that.
Did Seattle do the gum wall thing first? They cleaned it all off in 2015 and started over though.
Thanks Justin That Was A Very Moooving Vlog.I Enjoy Your Videos And Usually Learn Something Plus It's Nice To See You And Ally Together. 😃
Gum Ally... LOL!
I love the missions along the coast! San Louis Absibo and Capistrano are my favorites!!!
keep going with the vlogs Justin I've been watching for about 2 years and I love them. safe travels bye

In beautiful California nice break from theme parks Great video Justin 👍
I'm a broke college student. I'll lick that wall for a frozen pizza and bottle of Malibu.

Your entertaining and informative, keep up the good work!
why are these videos so damn entertaining
Fun vid!! SLO is one of those places I've driven through a dozen times; maybe stopped for lunch once or twice, but never really looked at closely. I never knew about the "bubble gum alley"; both disgusting yet fascinating. :-)
I've been to that alley, my grandma used to live in San Luis Obispo. I actually stuck a piece on there haha.
1,000,000,000,000,000 dollars to lick this wall.
the alley was nasty. it would take a couple of millions of dollars for me to lick. awesome video!
They are actually converting some, areas of the L.A. River back to.its original like state, complete with canoe/kayak tours. Huell did a video on it a year or so before he passed away.
They have one of those gum walls up here in Seattle you should come check it out
Maybe you guys are going to the Winchester Mystery House!? That would be awesome too! I went once, wanna go again. I guess I'll have to wait n see =)
That's so crazy I had no idea about the gum wall! Bucket list :p

Thanks Justin it was fun! Blessings Salo
Mad editing skills as usual.
Justin, when you and Ally visit Seattle, there's a gum wall there too!
That cow has a nice mooty! ☺ But seriously, that town looks really cool.
We have that with bubble gum up here in Seattle at the Pike Place Market. Every once in while they wash it off.
9:05... " Not this Ally... this Ally is OK..."
*Ally makes a "just OK???" face*
My brothers live in the Mission in SF I visited them awhile back and love the neighborhood and city. Then we went to Disney land
I think Adam showed one of these gum walls in the northeast somewhere once. I can't remember where. At Six Flags over Georgia people would put their gum on trees while waiting in line for Thunder River. I think they put something around the trees to stop that now.
Ali wanted to look in the shops 😊
That bubble gum wall just makes my skin crawl....so nasty....
Really enjoys your roadtrips!
I used to do a play every year in San Luis Obispo.
Are you guys going as far as San Jose and Winchester Mystery House?
While your'e in the Central Coast, you should go to Cambria, Harmony, Solvang, and the "Village" in Arroyo Grande. There's a really cool guitar shop there called Lightning Joe's. Parts of the road were all closed off! Haven't been to Cambria since 2008, hope to return soon
Yes Highway One is closed again above Ragged Point.
Justin I live in Paso Robles just over the grade my name is Justin and would love to meet you if your in the area still
And Ally with the very nice look today
very mooo-ving. haha. I love your jokes!
oh and as for linking the wall....I just couldn't. if someone said for one million dollars tax free and had it right there with them but no...no I couldn't.
Buddy from elf would love that wall of gum
They had a bubble gum alley like you have shown in Seattle, Washington. Weeeiiirdd!
Someone put a Bob’s Bigboy out in the middle of a big field near Yellowstone. It’s amazing.
You make history fun.
Why does that monk cow have an ice cream cone stuck to the front of his robe? Or is it a low dangling necklace? Very unique!!!
lol I think it's supposed to mimic a cross. Just guessing.
You need to hit San Antonio, Texas. We have 4 missions.
I hope you are having so much fun guys!!
I can imagine how much bacteria is on that wall... 🤢 yuck
With something like that, The World's First Motel, you'd think they would fix it up to it's original look, at least what they demolished.
I like how laid back your girl is. She seems like a cool chick.
Seattle has a gum wall as well. XD I know about a year or two ago they scraped all the gum off but I believe people have already put their gum all over the wall once again. Its been a while since I've been down there. It's pretty gross though. XD
That wall looked so gross. There is not enough money in the world that would ever get me to lick that wall. 🤢
I would not lick that for all the money in the universe. You could give me eternal life if I licked it and I still wouldn't do it.
Seriously X( I am from San Luis Obispo, and can tell you that the alley is surrounded by bars and there's frequently drunk people peeing/throwing up in the alley too....as if it wasn't gross enough on its own!
whossoul That's disgusting! Now you couldn't even pay me to go anywhere NEAR that thing, let alone lick the wall!
You should go to Guadalupe sand dunes and to Santa Maria's airport where the rocketeer was filmed.
MO-dell ? first MO?, nice building.MO-tel-in Lucy was bored, ready to mooo-ve on.
😄I love SLO so much, especially the pathway along the river. Oh, but just so you know, if you ever go to India (or to a place where there are a lot of people from India), the word "mooti" is what little kids say when they have to "go number one.' 😝
That's so cool I've been to that mission it's really pretty in person
There are small Cows on Parade. You can check online and get them on E Bay. My late wife collected them and had a "Herd" of over 50 of them. We didnt have that one tho or I would send it to you.
every thought to do Hearst Castle?
Been there. They won't let me film it though. We'll see what happens
question for Ally how do you like the 80d?
Bianca Nurton i love it
ohh yes!! The only and unique bubble gum cemetery at San luis Obispo. As you said this is extremely Weirddddddd !!
no I'm lactose intolerant and that cow is amazing
Great video!
Yikes!! forget licking the wall. I have high "gag" factor, but no way!! The cow, maybe...
that gum alley is so much worse than the gum wall in seattle
Did you have breakfast at the Apple Farm?
Are you guys going to Hearst Castle?! I guess I will find out soon enough. I wanted to go for the 1st time for my last B day but it didn't happen.
But I did get to go to Solvang, the mission and the ostrich farm with emu/murder birds ha ha... When I saw the Emu I thought of you ''murrrrrder birds'' ha ha... they DO look murdery!?
They won't let me film there. Not without a lot of red tape and payola - someday when & if I have the hookup or I can afford to do that I'll be there in a heartbeat
That would be awesome.
I love your videos!!!!
I would never ever lick that wall. I probably wouldn't go near it.
No amount of money would induce me to lick that! This Gum Alley sure is more extensive than the fabled Gum Wall of Pike Place Market, but then the City of Seattle periodically power washes that so the contributors have to keep starting over.
I hear that Knott's Berry farm is auctioning some of there animatronics in March. will we see you there?
gorgeous area... simply gorgeous. ..
No amount of money would make me lick that wall. 🤢
A fully paid Signature plus pass for a solid lick of the wall!!!
One of these days the gum will be so thick on those walls will be do thick people won't fit through the alley. Then thousands of years from now, a future archeologist will dig up two walls made of petrified gum and say, "WTF?"
And some Cow-tholics might have a beef with Moo-nipero.
no amount of money- i'd never even touch it!
$50k negotiable to $10k, any money is worth it to a soon-to-be university student.
Justin here is a Idea, your Vlogs are cool, Have you considered letting ALLY pick a few of the places ,
love you guys! Don't touch the walls:-)
$300 and immediate access to a bottle of listerine
Gagged that whole last bit. lol
another great video
the mission is 4 years older than doi
Anyone else almost dry heave looking at that gum wall, especially when he showed the strings and talked about licking it? I still have a look of disgust and nausea on my face just thinking about it. lol
You should have smelled it... yuck!
+JustinScarred I would have definitely hurled then. lol. "
Maybe a million...........maybe.
Plus the cow.
I'm from slo. I watched my brother eat a large chunk of gum off the wall once. He's still alive.
My dad grew up there and he said the city took off the gum a few times until they just gave up.
That makes sense!
Do my eyes deceive me? Did you just reply to me? Your my favorite btw. Keep doing what your doing.
You are very entertaining.
Time to be moo-vin' along!
