@@IshwaTV Because he would be stepping on Michael Padget's toes. He also does not have the chops Michael does. Matt's solos are relatively basic. His strength is in his rhythm playing, song writing, vocals. I get why he records the bass parts, for expediency. However, if I were the bassist in his band, I would definitely not like it.

Been a fan of BFMV since 6th grade. They’re the reason why I’m into metal music, and will always respect the incredible talent these types of musicians have!
And they still make music like they did ten years ago but more evolved. Love it. Reason why I stopped listening to metal is because most of the bands I love are.. hard rock at best now

I am so glad I watched this interview. Matt Tuck is amazingly personable, and obviously intelligent. He is also a great subject for interviews, because he is so conversational. I bet he is among the favorites for people to interview.
I'm not necessarily a fan of them, as I never got into their music, but I have respect for him for being just a genuine man.

I remember discovering these guys through Guitar Hero World Tour with the song Scream Aim Fire. Been a fan since either 2010 or 2011. I like their new album Gravity. It's not metal but who cares. It's nice to see them exploring new sounds. I personally would like them to go in a thrashy direction while having the melodies of The Poison and Fever on the next album. Anyways, thanks for doing this Loudwire :)

I discovered 'Bullet for My Valentine' through 'Guitar Hero: World Tour' too, Scream Aim Fire, such a solid song :D I've been a fan of them since that game came out, which I believe was 2008, Can't believe that was 10 years ago ;) I feel old aha, plus Guitar Hero got me into many of the bands I listen to, to this day
Saw the Hand of Blood video in 04-05 on On-demand/Burnout Revenge soundtrack and have been hooked ever since.

Matt has done ALL the solos and bass tracks for every single album they've done? Holy shit. So basically it's just him and a drummer and a producer in the studio....
NOT the solo's. I do not think Padget would stand for that. Plus, Matt has too much respect for Michael and does not have the chops to pull it off. The bass parts are pretty basic and like he stated, "the same right hand doing guitar rhythm is the same right hand doing bass." I do not think it's THAT impressive, mainly because I have been playing for over 35 years. In the studio, you can do 50 takes until it is perfect. Playing bass live is an entirely different experience altogether.
Matt Tuck & Moose flew to Thailand to track Temper Temper. Padge and Jay were left out of the whole process, which Padge was massively pissed off about.

Probably not all the guitars, he wouldn't want to leave Padget out. I can understand why he would do the bass, but he probably wouldn't want to snub his lead guitarist, especially not one as skilled as Padge.

Julien Havoc I wouldn't be surprised if that could be a major contribution to Jay leaving just before Venom, I mean, if you're part of a band, and u have little to no part in the recording process of the albums, u feel more like a roadie than anything else. Not saying that Matt is doing the wrong thing by recording the bass parts, because he makes a very good point that it sounds much tighter when the same right hand is playing it all, but that could have contributed to Jay leaving
mickel deblois Just to be clear, a vast majority, if not all, bands do that in the studio. It’s easier and tighter (like Matt said) to have one guy do the parts that are similar to keep consistency through the record. I highly doubt that was at all a factor in Jay leaving the band.
Nick Pires well, that was just my opinion, because normally you'd expect the band members to record their own instruments. I did not say that it was THE reason, I said it wouldn't surprise me if that had some sort of part in Jay leaving. You can't be 100% certain because the only reason we have for him leaving is "musical differences", nothing else.
mickel deblois yeah I get it. I agree you can’t rule it completely out, but I’m just saying most bands, that’s how they record. I’ve been a part of recording a few albums and that’s exactly how we did it was one guitarist did everything unless there was a lead part that was played by the other. Granted the albums I played on were nowhere near the level of Bullet, but the idea is the same for consistency
Nick Pires yeah, I agree with you, but you can't rule it out completely. To be honest, I am very curious to see what Bullet would have done if Jay had stayed
I first discovered them in 2005 the poison and got hooked. I saw them live opening up for Iron Maiden in 2005 and they killed it I got in line to get an autograph they signed a poison CDs and I still got that saved in my room.

I cant even....I think from the moment I was just 13 years old and I sore "Hand of Blood" for the first time..I have been hooked not only on this gorgeous man but on BFMV music and I think it will always be that way I will listen to them till I take my last breath.may sound OTT but just stateing a fact.

People can't stand change. Their new album kicks ass. Not everything can sound like The Poison.
Preston Hoch especially since every album is different. Poison was more Metalcore, SAF was more Thrashy, Fever was more Modern Metal'ish i guess, Temper Temper was a bit more Melodic, Venom back to the roots with a modern twist and Gravity is more electronic even tho I do like it, its in my opinion their weakest. I'd compare it to Sounds of a Playground Fading, has nice songs but just doesnt get that Feeling tho

You wanna a real change on sound with real effort with a "pop/commercial" oriented sound? The Black Album.
Change is fine. Fever was different than the poison and scream aim fire. I personally like fever sound best. Temper temper wasn't bad too. But gravity is just not even metal anymore. Way too big of a change. If they tried another temper temper I'd be happy with it.

Luke Cordero I think this album works out perfectly fine, because it still sounds like Bullet, but with electronics, Temper was the lowest they had gone because I believe it was rock feed or lowdwire one time, I saw them say that if they take another step as low as Temper, they risk putting an end to a previously untouchable career, meaning fever, Scream, and poison are by far their best efforts, I feel like Gravity would fit the description of Fever, and Temper mixed together.

So in Metallica for example, it’s James Hetfield recording all the rhythm guitar parts, right? My question is: are there two rhythm guitar tracks being superimposed on top of each other for bands with two (or more) guitarists, to give it that full sound that you’d get from multiple guitars? With James’ rhythm guitar parts being double tracked?

Collin Richardson is the best fit of a producer for bullet like producing venom and the poison and scream aim fire their best work to date imo, hand of blood ep was sick as well

i was 13 when i started and im moving to nashville with my cousin who has written "lonely eyes" by Chris Young and " A Women Like You" by Lee Brice to get connections with metal ill be away from my parents and everyone i love but its whats gonna make me happy and i wanna make a career out of music i wanna learn music theory and have music influences at a young age so i know a thing or 2 when im ready to start progressing with music in life Bullet For My Valentine has been my inspiration for music since i was a little kid keep in mind im still a kid but the first song i learned front to back was smells like teen spirit and im not giving up on this dream no matter how many years its gonna take i remember eating at a thai place with bullet for my valentine and i will never forget the best day of my life thank you bullet for everything you have done and i hope to one day meet you guys again and play like its 2009 big day out with you guys this is the start of making a music career and i hope to one day be like you guys

I'm going to a bfmv show in a few months. the reason I'm going is that nothing more and of mice & men are there but bfmv are headlining. I don't know anything about the latter but I'm a big fan of the other 2 bands.

I think it's worth your time to see BFMV live. I never went to any of their concerts, but from all the videos I've seen, it should be a pretty fun show.

Saw them open for A7X. They did really good. Would recommend
frank unodostres saw them in Maryland and Trivium opened for them. Trivium kicked ass and BFMV did as well! They didn’t really interact with the crowd as much as Trivium did, but they knew how to put on a show for sure! This was when they only had out 3 singles for Gravity though so they’ll probably have changed up their setlist, but I don’t think you’ll be disappointed one bit.
I've seen them 3 times now, I would highly recommend staying. They're really awesome live
Growing up with this band. Knowing them first from NFS Most Wanted back in the day. The song was hand of blood. Guaranteed to have an epic race when that song comes up haha
Saw them at Nottingham rock city supporting funeral for a friend before any albums was released and for me they never really kicked on from the early demo stuff

Takota Jarrett The problem with Gravity is that it's just generic and boring. It's not a new sound. It's the same sound every radio rock band produces. If you like it, that's cool man. I'm not gonna bash you for the music you like. I just dont understand what they were thinking.

I also like Gravity. It feels more authentic than Venom. I like Venom because it's Heavy, but it also kind of feels like they were doing the same thing again because it sells. BfmV really needed to do something new and Gravity delivers. Only the mixing disappoints, but they get that wrong on half their albums..
FreshM1nt what the fuck are you even on about? BfmV betraying fans like 5FDP, what do you mean? you do know that 5FDP sounds the same since at least four albums now and is growing old, while BfmV tries out new stuff?
And I was a big fan 5FDP but they got repetitive and boring with Got Your Six and the new one... couldn't even give it a full listen, it's so sad. You can really tell now that Ivan is either out of Ideas (naturally, since he always writes the same) or his addiction is degenerating his mind.

Gravity was amazing! I know it doesn't have that Scream Aim Fire feel that we all know and love but still! It's amazing to see there trying out new ways to write and produce music! Although maybe we will get some songs next album that have the Scream Aim Fire or better yet Fever feel :)

I live where they do in wales and I'm about the same age they were fucking good i loved them ,they were kids from a run down village in wales and they made it ,they were an inspiration to kids who loved metal but I don't like this new album its to mainstream , i know bands have to evolve and change with the times and prob with age but it isn't the sound they had .
