My uncle, a newly-qualified doctor at the time, went north to Napier in 1931 to help with the earthquake casualties, and met his future wife there who was a nurse from Auckland (and in Napier for the same reason). After the War they moved to London where he headed the neurosurgery unit of Guy's Hospital. By coincidence, a statue on the Napier waterfront commemorates NZ Governor Plunkett, an ancestor of my English wife.

anywhere in New Zealand is "beautiful", you might be getting very excited in day one or day two. I bet you will get bored from Day 3 and so on..... Oh, perhaps I am a city boy.

I really doubt there’s such peace of land in the entire country. Who would bother to subdivide such peace of land?

I imagine 300k in greater Auckland, maybe 200k on Great Barrier. (This is lowest price, average is probably 800k for acre)
Just checked Trademe and found only ONE under 200k. It is “by negotiation” 500m in Glenbrook.
