Glad you are doing well man. I have to admit; I am not a flat-lander. Moved to Deadmonton six years ago. Just...missed mountains, trees, and the ocean. Moved back to Vancouver Island. Like, I think I legitimately had an anxiety attack last year, and had to drive to the mountains, at like 3 pm on a sunday. Now doing something I never imagined I would be doing: airbrushing fishing lures. Eventually I will get a craft space going again, got some ideas crawling in the recesses of my mind.
Take care, and have a merry christmas!

As I sit here building a whole ruined city for an upcoming dnd game I look to my right and see a much loved and arguably over used set of dungeon tiles cut with a bad hobby knife and painted a charmingly generic grey.
Its where I started out and every step of my modelling journey since has been thanks to those tiles and the friendly Canadian guy who explained how to make them on TH-cam.

I have been watching you for years and I have finally got into the hobby of crafting terrain and such. I was reluctant due to having tremors, but tbh its been nice seeing someone that also has it, and still able to make crazy stuff. so its been helping me to get over that panic of starting the hobby due to it. So, just want to say Thanks.

I too have hand tremors which started as I was getting into my mid teens.
I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the courage to re-enter the miniature painting hobby after a 20+ year of active avoidance and telling myself I just wasn't capable!
The reality of it was probably so insignificant that if I ignored it and continued to paint I would have very quickly overcome the issue, but you know what other kids are like "what's wrong with your hands? they are like my grand dads" etc. which made it seem a lot worse than it was.
At the time as a kid within a year or so I had gone from having minis displayed in my local GW to being nearly unable to block out main colours with accuracy (or so it seemed). This just totally destroyed my ability and confidence to continue. Really put me on a downer and ended up giving all my minis away to the local GW players and just gave up completely.
Thankfully the tremors haven't progressed significantly over the years and seems to be no worse yours. (I turned 42 this year)
Oh that is also so weird, I also wanted go into graphic design when I was in school but again went a different route as I felt unable too as a result, back then it was all pencil and paper work couldn't pull out the old graphics tablet and mash away on the computer. (A mouse was the pinnacle of technology with the good'ol Acorn Archimedes) LMFAO, ahh a simpler time!

Not accurate at all actually. The United States government spends trillions a dollars a year to provide healthcare to those that can't afford it. Per person, it's about the same as Canada.
I have been an adult in the US for 20 years; I have been in practically every income bracket; and I have never had any issues receiving healthcare. I also have a son with type 1 diabetes so he requires a lot of healthcare.

Hi. Im an introvert too (this commentary is my way of communicating to the world) and I love spending my time at home (flexibility is great), but I'm not that good in monetizing my hobbies (I wrote some RPG materials for DTRPG) - the thing is I really understand your "meeting people all the time is not that great" attitude. I love the "Ultimate Machine" tattoo story - I don't have any tattoos, but I think that is great, that you carry this one for both of you. I disagree with the Cola/Pepsi thing. I can't drink Coca-cola, because of diabetes, but I liked it, and we had a special meetings just to drink a little bottle of Coca-Cola every Thursday for years (a long time ago), and Pepsi... I did not drink Pepsi for more than 30 years. And it is good to heat, that you're more relaxed and the tremors are not that much of an issue now. I'm fighting the "burnout" (more like trying to do some miniatures work) all the time - if I start, there is no problem in continuing, but "the starting" is difficult. It was good to hear from you. Cheers!

    THANK YOU!
It really does seem weird watching other people play D&D. I tried watching a couple of different groups and I just couldn't watch it. It was too weird.
One group I played with when I was MUCH younger had a running joke about archways. Someone always had to bring up cookies any time there was an archway. Yes, it was stupid. But we all laughed. To anyone else it's just stupid and not even funny.
Then again I'd much rather play a game of football than watch other people play. That's always seemed weird to me, too. Sure, they're amazing athletes. Great. I'd rather play the game and suck at it than watch.

Hi Jeremy, I am Kevin a journalist/video editor in Shreveport, LA.
I’ve been watching your channel since around Covid. It has inspired me to start my own. It only has two videos but more are already on the way.
Which is one reason I’m reaching out to you. One of the things I needed was a round table base to show off the finished product. I am using your caulk technique to created a cobble stone base. I bought the green stuff world cobble stone, wood plank, and flagstone rollers. Making and painting it is going to be my fourth video giving you credit for the concept if that’s ok.
And secondly, I have written an article on the first box set of Dungeons and Dragons, and it posted on the stations website that I work for.
I would be honored if you took a few minutes to read it and let me know what you thought about it.
Is there a way for me to send you the article?

Try some salt water fish. It's not as hard as you think. Sgt. Majors are like salt water guppies: They'll live in any kind of salt water. There are quite a few salt water fish that are very hardy. Also, Sgt. majors are not $200 each and they don't grow to 18" long so that you absolutely have to have a 200 gallon tank.
Aside from that... I don't know what kind of fish you favor but maybe try some cardinal tetras. They look like neon tetras but the stripes go all the way from nose to tail. They're rather more delicate, than neons though. Nothing better than a school of twenty cardinal tetras swimming through your tank.
Happy to hear you're using live plants! So much better in every way! (Beware the duckweed... And snails.)

Got 10 cardinal tetras in mine! One day I might try salt but don’t have space for a second tank right now.

That's great, @@BlackMagicCraftOfficial! If you can keep cardinals alive angelfish should be easy, too. Discus... I don't know. Those were a bit too rich for my bank account.
Oh, I don't know how much you know about this business... I used to be a bit... Obsessed with fish tanks. Always get the longer tank that isn't as tall if you have a choice. More surface area for volume and better light for your plants because there's less water to go through.
If you decide to try salt go for the least expensive fish. They're also captive bred so they're not being pulled off of some reef half-way around the world while a third of them die in shipping. A lot of the really expensive salt fish _can't_ be kept alive for more than a year or so because you can't really duplicate the exact conditions they need to live so the less expensive ones are rather more ethical, as well.
Oh, and while you may have made this episode as a break I thought it was great. Nice to know a bit about the actual person I'm listening to.

Oh, @@BlackMagicCraftOfficial, be careful with the fish tanks or one day you'll find yourself looking for space for a fifth tank and thinking that maybe the wall the TV is on in the living room would be a great spot for a built-in 250 gallon tank. LOL

Part of the skills I’ve learned in creating terrain or builds has made me wonder if there is a way to create water-safe builds! I haven’t found anything that I would trust as a secure coating or materials. If you know of any resources or channels that look at that. :)

@@AVspectre I can't say I've ever tried to build submersible terrain. I just stick to rocks, driftwood and plants.

Thanks so much for sharing your creativity, craft, and humanity!
I think we should normalize anyone with a Patreon taking December off, or at least doing easier things. The pace of creative output is so intense that the creatives deserve a rest and the audience deserves a chance to catch up.

As for burnout, I think all TH-camr's should feel free to do the easy videos or just take a break once in a while. I see so many that do video after video where they seem to be one upping their previous work and that just seems a recipe for a total crash. Anyway, if you are doing videos regularly then simple is great. I guess unfortunately the algorithm may disagree but I am starting to have to skip longer, more involved videos from my favorite creators because I just don't have enough time to watch them all.

Are you going to do a video on how to build a gaming table? I remember watching an old video where you talked about your gaming table and how you wanted to improve the build. Have you already made a new one? If so, could you tell us about it?

I just use modular work desks from ikea now as they work better for the double duty purpose of crafting and filming as I don’t have room for a dedicated gaming table.
