- This Cadillac CTS-V3 is no ordinary daily driver-it’s built to dominate both traffic-packed streets and wide-open highways. Sporting an aggressive camshaft chop, headers, and a cold-air intake, this powerhouse takes performance to the next level.
With an upgraded low-side fuel system and a flex sensor, this CTS-V3 is ready to adapt when 93-octane isn’t available, seamlessly switching to E85 for maximum power. Whether it’s carving through traffic or unleashing its full roar on the open road, this no-slouch Caddy is designed to handle it all.

This and the CT6 are my favorite modern Caddy's. Such a shame that they killed the CT6-V and Platinum 4.2 twin turbo too soon....
@Roddy_Zeh my parents had a ct6-v with the blackwing 550hp engine car was a blast to drive
@rickybobby4017 Nice!! How was it like in terms of maintenance and reliability? I know that each engine cost $20k for GM to produce and this was one of the reasons they killed it off, but I still think there was a lot of unexplored potential in it.
@Roddy_Zeh it was reliable they had it like a year they got rid of it cause they were worried about sumthing happening with the engine and not being able to get parts for it.
@@rickybobby4017 Makes sense. Specially because so few were made. I mean, digging on GM Authority, only 1,200 Blackwing-powered cars were made between 2019 and 2020 models, being 915 examples of the CT6-V and just 285 of the CT6 4.2 Platinum.
@Roddy_Zeh personally I think they shoulda used the Lt4 engine in that car gm had the engine already and it still woulda been a special car too 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
I'm a Mopar guy but I've always Loved The CTS V,more the 1st gen ones but nonetheless what a SLEEPER!Great Job👍
Thank you!
Beautiful car. Very fast too. Great job guys. I keep dreaming of jamming a 427 or similar into my 2001 Jaguar S-Type. Hopefully soon guys. Hopefully soon.
Love it! Nice work 💪🏼
What was going on with 5th gear?
How much does something like this cost?
Is it slipping in 5th or were you feathering it a little?
Could you just use E85 while daily driving?
Yes sir! You can run E85 all the time if you so choose. 👌
Is it possible to retrofit either C7Z or CT5-V Blackwing Carbon Ceramic Brakes to a CTS-V3??
@AYO_KO there almost the same size I think i don't think it would be worth it really. I got those v2 brakes on my G8 Gt with a stroker engine 🤙🤙🤙
@ NICE‼️
You said this had a low side fuel system but doesn't have port injection so where is the low side plumbed too?
It helps feed the mechanical fuel pump. Now the mechanical fuel pump is fed by the factory in tank fuel pump as well as our external fuel pump to ensure we have 60-70psi of fuel pressure feeding the mechanical fuel pump at all times. If we did not, one the low side fuel system drops fuel pressure, then the mechanical fuel pump will follow and she will fall on her face with no fuel. Hope that helps.
@LateModelRacecraft I have the majority of my parts already I still need a cam and DOD kit. Willl you guys install it for me?
16-19 cts-v woulda been so much better if it came with the 10spd instead of that junk 8spd. Nice car though 850hp plenty of power to get in trouble with 🤙🤙🤙
Swap it!! V3 10L90E swaps are already a thing. There’re 10 speed swapped 5th gen Camaros, GTOs, G8s, VF Commodores, CTS-V2s, etc.
@AYO_KO I know buddy thanks for the info. I was just saying though they had that 10spd tranny out in 17 you would think in a top of the line CTS-V it would already be in it some people don't have the 10k++ to do the swap. Thanks though for the info🤙🤙🤙
@@rickybobby4017 word!! I see what you mean. They should’ve just pulled a Ford or BMW and switched to the 10L90E for the 2017 or 18 model year.
I missed it, but does he have a ported blower
This one does not have ported supercharger.
What's your favorite platform for Vettes? I'm going to get 1, but I can't decide C6z06 or C7Z06 🤔
If your ok with manual trans , C6Z or C6 ZR1 💪
Why didn't you port the blower?
For 850 crank?? No need
@AYO_KO You sure, he already has it removed and would it make more power easily?
@@CAC-1111 being that he doesn’t have 93 where he lives, I’d surmise it’d just be unnecessary to port n spin the blower even harder for more air just to not have the fuel to keep up.
If he had 93 where, then I’d be like just port or go 2650
@AYO_KO 2650 is $8K upgrade port is less than $2K. I would have ported anyway.
Another good build by you and the crew, but just for comparison, if the customer would have went with like a Whipple supercharger, or a 2650 supercharger, wouldn’t he have gotten about the same amount of horsepower……without going into the engine, and from a financial standpoint, wouldn’t it have been more of a bang for the buck, most superchargers are at least 8k to 10k plus install and tuning fee, based upon knowledge and finances, wouldn’t it seem that a larger supercharger would have given more horsepower and would have probably been less expensive, and every customer is different and it’s no offense to anyone, it’s just giving a comparison so that all with the LT4 platform can take into consideration when looking for a increase in horsepower and especially bang for the buck performance……
Yes, larger supercharger with ALL supporting mods included in this package would make more horsepower efficiently. We call it our LMR1000Hp package. Hope that helps.
91 is rough. West coast is a mess
These Gen V LT's aren't reliable as the LS
Hate to say it
Why would the customer have to look at the RPM's to shift? Anyone worth their salt can just listen to the engine. Maybe since I'm used to manuals, but who looks at RPM's?
