I use a used dryer sheet to clean that felt in jewelry boxes. It does double duty because it cleans the dust off, and it freshens the smell. It’s super quick, costs nothing and is very effective!

I usually find hidden gems on last day of Estate Sales. Especially if it’s a real picker sale which can be daunting to some people. At that point some companies do “fill a bag” cheap just to get it cleared out.

Found a box of vintage ties at an estate sale that was like a 70's time capsule. Bought the box for $20, got it home and had 27 ties.

The estate sales around me have been pricing items so high, that the good stuff is still around by the last day. I’ve been able to snag some nice items to flip and to keep. Found some vintage makeup compacts and other vanity items from the 30s-50s. No one wanted to go in the bathroom so it was all left for me lol 😊 paid about $1 each in the end since they were still there in the last hour of the sale. You never know what you’ll find on the second or last day after people have cleared some of it out already.
That’s true! Definitely saw some new things on the second day.

I only go on 50% day and get some great deals, especially within the last hour. A couple of estate sale companies really slash the prices then. I did pick up some jewelry at the last estate sale I went to and even with lots of people going through it I still manage to pick up 4 pairs of silver earings marked Italy and 925. I'm thinking of getting a test kit just to make sure, have you used one of those? I also got what I think is a scarf ring that is signed Rebecca Collins, I need to do some research on that. Its not marked silver but isn't magnetic either.

I didn’t know there is an interest in colonial style things. I did hear that in 2026 there might be interest in centennial & bicentennial things because it will be the sestercentenial “250 year” anniversary of the country.
There’s a group of people who like it- and yes that’s a good point!
