    Have you flown with a dog? 🐕 How did it go? Hopefully better than my trip 😅

    This was really helpful! We live in PV and are looking to fly to Tijuana. Great to know I need to get that health letter from the vet.

    Did they make you put your dog below the seat in front of you? Just wondering because if he was scared and you had your own row it would have been sweet if they let you put him in the crate on the seat next to you

    • @WorldBrilliant
      @WorldBrilliant  ปีที่แล้ว

      @bleigh029 No, he was only allowed to be under the seat unfortunately. Even though I had my own row. He was fine once we were settled in, and I think he even rested during the flight. But Mexico views dogs differently than some other countries, they are not beloved pets as I am used in the States. Given the cultural differences, I think they do their best. It's great that they allow dogs in the cabin at all! But, important for those of us flying with our fur children to know what to expect. lol Glad you found this helpful! Cheers, friend!

    I would take piddy pads and Lola and I would go to the bathroom together. But this was in the states. I flew Aeromexico last year and was not impressed at all. But how was your experience with your pet at the resort?

      Haha, I love that!!! I don't think Taho would know how to do that, we need to practice.
      So, we have over 6 months of travelling through Mexico, and only two of those nights were spent at a resort. TBH, I can't recommend it at all!
      Mexico is way too beautiful of a country, easy to get around, cheap, and safe, to be stuck in an overpriced resort the entire time. And with a dog we were treated differently. He could not be in any public spaces or left alone in the room....so that was tricky! But outside of the resorts, there are tons of pet friendly restaurants, cafes, beaches, and lodging options. He had a blast and we will definitely take him again!

      @@WorldBrilliant Thank you so much!!! I was wondering about if they could be left in the room, but it seems like they cannot, like during dinner, so what the heck!!

      @@ILLVMBlog If your fur baby is quiet when left alone, I think you could get away with it for dinners. But if you stay outside the resorts, you'll find tons of pet friendly restaurants and it's just way less stressful for pooch and parent :)

    was it easy to travel back to united states with your dog? what do we need for that?

    • @WorldBrilliant
      @WorldBrilliant  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, it is easy. make sure your dog is current on Rabies vaccine, and that you have a certificate of health from a vet within 3 days of your return to the states. Any vet in Mexico will be able to help you with this, it costs around $20usd. :) happy travels with your furry friend!
      (Always double check the requirements online before you travel, because they may change).

    what do you mean by stickers in a book?

    • @WorldBrilliant
      @WorldBrilliant  ปีที่แล้ว

      The vaccines (at least in Mexico) come with stickers that have the vaccine information on them. The AeroMexico authorities wanted those stickers in an official "Pet Passport" book from a local veterinarian. Hope that helps!

    The zip ties killed me... if your dog had a health emergency and you couldn't get in the bag that's just cruelty. The dog can't open the bag... you are a human who can understand not to let it free but might need to help it calm down through the bag as you did or it could have been even more serious scenarios I'm imagining but won't torture others with. Ugh. Love Mexico and Mexicans so much but in over a decade of living here stuff like that just blows my mind (but is not the norm.) I've flown multiple times with dogs on multiple airlines in Mexico including AeroMexico and never had that happen. Sounds like you crossed the path of non animal person having a bit of a power trip not "following a procedure." Tape it... tie it... if they really need to feel like they sealed it for their own satisfaction but don't endanger the animal. Note to self: keep clippers in my bag to snip one of the ties the second we're in the air if this ever happens and the argument isn't worth it. If my dog has serious distress and I have to dig around looking for clippers that's too long to not be be able to get to them.
    Sorry it was such a rough flight but glad you and your pup got to have fun together and are both fine in the end!

      @MelBlossom, yes, that was my biggest learning experience was with the zip ties. I am happy they allow dogs at all, because some Mexican airlines do not. But I really wanted to get the message out there about all of this because it certainly COULD save someone their pet if there was an emergency and they needed access to the animal. I like to think a flight attendant or even another passenger would help in that scenario. But regardless, it's an easy thing to carry once you know to plan for it. We still LOVE Mexico and we will still fly with Taho again in Mexico. We'll just be more prepared next time. I am glad you found this helpful and thanks for reaching out! Cheers!

    Basically, never fly Aeromexico

    • @WorldBrilliant
      @WorldBrilliant  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's a decent airline (free drinks all cabins!) however, knowing what to expect, especially when flying with pets, is crucial 😉 I'm here to help
