The Falling Thunder Invoker Monk that i thought got annihilated by the Patch 0.1.0d is alive and well thanks to some tech from @snoobae8553. We're now a hybrid damage monk with Cold and Lightning Damage to capitalize on Cast on Freeze or Elemental Invocation. This massively enhances the build allowing us to allow use Herald of Ice!

If you’re earlier on in progression and only have a 4 link, Use Storm Wave, Cold Infuson, Ice Bite and Martial Temp it’s a big difference
180 Spirit is required, 100 from the Campaign and 80 from your chest via the Ascendancy Node
Quality is most important on Falling Thunder and Tempest Flurry
Links shown are most important from Left to Right on the Builder (Everything is mandatory except the 6 links)
6 Link Tempest Flurry is not mandatory but helps tremendously with mana
Always refer to the Skill Tree in the builder as i can't retroactively change the footage but can update the planner if necessary
Against Pinnacle Bosses, respec to resonance and use Hand of Chayula + Snipers Mark
If you exceed 50% crit, drop the top left crit wheel and take the Dynamisn Energy wheel.

@@macborek you need to activate the invocation mate, it sotres the charges and then when you press the invocation it instantly casts them - hence why i refer to it as an "extra button"
What do you think about storm wave instead of tempest flurry? I've tried both but I prefer the first one more.
Hey, you can put elemental evocation on your left click. It doesn't affect your movement at all and it's a button you're gonna press anyways , I've been using it that way all day today and it works really well. The only issue is : I'm pretty sure you can't just hold left click and have the spell trigger as soon as it's ready : you have to click it, even if that means letting go of left click for a split second and pressing it again
idk why but flicker strike, even in poe1 gives me motion sickness. glad this build is still viable
why do we focus on physical damage instead of lightning or ice damage? please explain

Thanks for the videos man, these guides have really helped with the changes and everything, big shoutout to snoobae as well for working all this out. I was unsure of the freeze setup after swapping the gems around. Had about min 270ish cold damage and freezing didn't feel consistent. Managed to get a staff with cold damage on it and that helped tremendously, have about 600 min cold damage and generating a ton of power charges now. For anyone wondering how flicker strike feels over falling thunder, it's so much fun having cold damage on the weapon. I'll flicker a huge pack and it'll still pop the profane ritual while I'm blinking and deliver the charges after I've landed, feels super nice imo
I just set up this build, but only at level 55, with only 2 supports for cast on freeze, I feel like i'm generating barely any power charges, is there a cooldown on profane ritual? Or should I wait with this until i'm higher level
@@michska53 Higher level will be your best bet. If you click into the details of your tempest flurry, how much min cold damage are you doing? The higher that is the more you freeze and the more energy you build up. That's what I had some trouble with earlier, I wasn't freezing them enough
Thanks for the vids! I think Intelligence is the tough part. Do we get that mostly from gear? Or spec it from Passives?

So I'm confused, you have cold infusion, ice bite, etc on tempest flurry but not on the maxroll..is ur updated versions on maxroll? And is cold infusion, ice bite on Herald of Thunder currently?
Ever tried Ruthless on Tempus on Boss fights , it's crazy how fast the 500% pushes the stunning bar. I like it on the Bell on AoE also it's just fun. TY for your builds. They have aided me tremendously. I'm attempting a crit/stun lighting spec. Long way to go for me.
I have ruthless on my bell for ice strike monk and it's nuts, a few freezes and an easy stun is huge cc on bosses

You can update the passive tree, it doesn't show what attribute you get

what i find realy frustrating with falling thunder is we need to invest in so many different think (power charge, shock,meta) to keep generating power charge and use falling thunder who in the end do far worse dmg than just hitting the bell
Hello, great build, in the maxroll planer you have an elemental staff but in the video you have the physical one, I use a staff with 400 dps of elemental, and I am doing very well at tier 10, and I want to know if I can continue with that staff or should I Should I sell it and buy one with a flat physique or continue with the elemental damage one, to be able to reach tier 15? Thank you
On the maxroll guide it says "A Physical Damage staff is much more damage in the Endgame." so I would go for a physical damage staff.
So do you think flicker is comparable in power to your current setup? very interested in trying out flicker. currently using charged staff + storm wave/tempest flurry
In my point of view, using Combat Frenzy Resonance is more smooth than Cast on Freeze.Always confuse when you hv 1on1 boss fight but without any corpse if you use Profane Ritual.

Should do a video about how to gear and prepare for early mapping, as a monk player I'm struggling with finishing maps and clearing them due to survivability. Getting 1 tapped by elites is frustrating with the 1life per map.
how do you get 186 spirit with 536 evasion and 202 energy shield on that body armour?
You get 100 spirit from doing Specific bosses in the campaign.Bosses are on Act 1 normal, act 3 normal and act 3 cruel
100 from campaign and rest is from ascendency and that body armour. math checks out

Hey quick Question, why is the freeze not coming from charged staff instead of tempest flurry? Wouldnt that apply it as aoe from range and therefor more easily?
Because charged staff has a lower basic damage so in fact it's harder to freeze I guess? Haven't tested it yet.
Is this a good leveling build? I am getting sick of ice strike teleporting me to random enemies and tempest flurry looks cooler with charged staff for a jedi look.
Is there a way for this to work without any cold damage on my weapon? I have a really high phy one with added fire not cold..

why not cast on shock but on freeze? should it shock more often than freeze? and how did you get that much spirit to reserve 5 spirit skills like that ?
Sorry if this question is already answered - what should I get first after upgrading my spirit to 60? Also more evasion and energy shield equals to more spirit right? with ascension node? Right now it is really hard to find a equipment with high evasion rating maybe is it because I am only lv38?

you dont really need to worry about that stuff before maps, since as you already realized you cant even get the setup ready. Just level up without focusing too much on this build and then try to finish it when you can actually get this ready
this build probably wouldnt even work properly in campaign anyway since the enemy density is so low and its really overkill

Cast on Freeze / Cast on Shock is unusable outside of maps with the nerfs. CoX will not sustain power charges for the buff, so no overflow is available to use Falling Thunder. I would recommend to stick with Herald of Thunder / Herald of Ice with your preferred skills and combine it with Ghost Dance or Wind Dance at 60 spirit.
If you still want to use Lightning stuff and power charges, casting profane ritual or Power Siphon (requires a wand rolled with that skill) manually isn't that bad as long as you have Profusion and Perpetual Charge and some chance to gain max charges from the passive tree. Use Siphoning Strike to get power charges vs bosses.
Honestly, Tempest Flurry with Charged Staff (and Bell for rares / bosses) does so much work in the campaign that Falling Thunder isn't needed.
@@patrickmyint6917 the number of trials or whatever it is named on your entry ticket is how many rooms you have to clear in trial of chaos (or floors on the other trial). So i think for the first trial of chaos, which should be your second ascendancy, you only need to kill the first boss (i think its 4 rooms?). If you cant kill it come back when youre stronger cant really give you more advice than that
@@xxfortniteslayer69xx82 thanks bro you are correct. After reading it, it said only 4 rooms so vulture is a last boss. Reddit seems to agreed with your advice. I am gonna try it again after I am 5-10 more levels up.

You can get a lot of cold damage without cold infusion nerfing your boss damage via the damage as extra cold on the tree, ascendency, and best of all just flat cold damage on weapon and gear
I have 100 spirit from the campaign, and 570/218 EV/ES on my chest piece and somehow I'm still 6 spirit short :( Is there a certain number they have to be before quality?

Currently done after putting in 60+ hours into it. While it has a good campaign and combat mechanics, it seriously lacks a good crafting system like Last Epoch and End game (which i am sure they will expand on) but for now I will wait and see how it progresses in the coming future.

Idk why I can't freeze as much. Already have a flat cold on my weap and gloves but mobs always die in shocked. Any tips? Copy your whole build.

If you just want some freezing, what about throwing in some shattering palm? That has 100% more freeze build up and everything.

It feels like the currently tree on maxroll gets the energy node too early. Don't think you even have access to meta gems by that point.
The tree isn’t in order due to it being an endgame build not a levelling guide, I can be more conscious of this if people get confused though for sure

7k EHP no chaos damage trade off for no falling thunder and less single target. Clearing double corrupt t16 breachs whilst watching movies

Shattering doesn't leave corpses on the ground, and you need corpses to collect

call of the brotherhood, combat frenzy + keystone to frenzy to powercharge, will make the build 3x better
I think combat frenzy will get fixed next week. It should have a cooldown, but that CD seems to not work if you convert the charges you gain.
But u lose shock with that ring or am i missing out on something?

Flat cold damage on weapon or rings/gloves + make sure you have freeze buildup nodes on the passive tree.
That was my main issue. After fixing that, I was fine with generating enough energy to proc profane ritual from freeze

Could be fine but you sacrifice a LOT of defence and spirit
the freeze is terrible for t15 maps though, it has a very rare and random proc chance on t15-16 maps due to scaling, so not worth it there, compared to lower tier maps sadly, you find your self either spamming charge blade or only rarely use falling thunder

why are people using cast on freeze compared to using cast on shock while doing main damage lightning?
Because freeze gives you 5x energy as shock, and it’s not 5x easier to shock enemies than freeze even if you spec hard into lightning with a modest investment in cold.

Stick with the other setup for now mate, it’s fine with reapers invocation or self cast ritual, this is later

@@E.Fredericks just go with whatever you need to equip your gems/gear and try to get as much eva/enerygy shield on gear, resist is icing on the cake. you should be good on dex through a lot of the evasion passives double upping with dex so a lot of my stat nodes are int/str for me. ~lvl 72 monk as of posting this

If you are going with the freeze build why dont take combat frenzy and the passive to change frenzy for power charges?
you would only get power charges every 5 seconds while this just gains as fast as you can freeze

He likes falling thunder. Which is great. With combat frenzy youre not generating that much power charges to cast falling thunder most of the time
@@joshuamanuel7359 how are you doing this. I specced into combat frenzy and observe exact issue above. Due to frenzy charges only being generated once in 6 seconds I don’t sustain my charges. Am I missing something here?

a lot kills on mobs you get from herald of ice. skill procs on frozen enemy, but dont freeze himsels. if mobs around main target dont frozen - they corpses after proc sont shatter

Herald of thunder when you kill shocked enemies with an attack you gain charges of those procs
didn't cast on freeze have the same nerf as shock tho? so why not just stick with cast on shock?
nvm i see now. cast on freeze gets 10 energy and shock 2 energy power power level of the enemy. that's rather stupid.

I am currently at lv 42 and I may try the combat frenzy approach first, then transit to this build during the late game.
I don't think I have enough cold damage to build up the freeze energy that quick.
you only need as high of a DPS quarterstaff as you can get. high phys is better than added ele but added ele isnt that bad. high attack speed and crit if possible.

The need to cast on shock made it generate too little energy and as a result, power charges

Dumb question but how did you get all those skill gems slots?
There's a currency item - Jeweller's Orb. They start at Lesser Jeweller's Orb and move up, allowing for new slots. I'm only at the Lesser stage so not sure if there's anything special after a certain point.

Play the game, sell rare items and you will get the gold.
Don’t rush into all the changes.
All Milkys builds revolve around Tempest flurry + charged staff.
Keep what is working for you and play the game to get gold and drops. When you are richer and feel the need to upgrade the build, do it only then…
Reroll is too time consuming
