I love Point Assist, one of the BEST trips we have had as a family, very professional - seamless and personable, Excellent host who remains very aware of your needs and wants and delivers brilliantly, our trip was exactly as we wanted - very challenging and fulfilling, very exciting and exhilarating, Very peaceful at times with many "WOW" moments to capture - A MUST DO, and will do again. Such an AMAZING man with such AMAZING experience !! Do your heart & soul a favour and have inspiration imprinted in your mind for life. Cant wait to go again !! H
Great speech. Post-traumatic growth. Right on mate. The narrative of the veteran as a 'fragile wreck' offends and annoys me no end. History is full of veterans who went on to do great things, and change the world. We are mere iron ore, some special properties but just dirt, until in the forge we get burned, bashed and dunked in the water. Do it over and over again, and do it properly, and you end up high grade steel. The dreamers of the day are dangerous, one of my very favourite quotes.
@@point_assist For sure mate. Everybody is wired differently and everybody is subjected to different traumas, having also had different experiences before and after that trauma. Some do have it hard, there can be no diminishing that. Even some who take it well and get to post-traumatic growth mode only do so after some guided work on it. Staying there can be even more work. What I was getting at was instances like after deploying, working at a civvie job and something undesirable would happen. I'd express my dissatisfaction, and people would go all hushed and ask "Is it because of something you saw overseas? Would you like to sit down?" It had nothing to do with 'overseas'. It seemed the capacity for judgement and reason was taken away i people's view because I was now a veteran and apparently a fragile wreck. Some are, some aren't, just like any other group. You don't need me to tell you all this is extraordinarily complicated and oversimplifying it for the sake of simple solutions is counterproductive.

Some people, not just veterans, do have a hard time adjusting after trauma but that should not stop us from trying to live the best life we can.
