    It is what it is. This project isn't intended to be the most perfectly engineered off road lawn tractor in the world. But it clearly works pretty well, so don't be so critical guys. It's also version 2.0, not 12.0. Sure, there are ways to make this rig better. I've got three lawn tractors sitting in my yard and who knows, maybe I'll try my hand at building a better version. But until I or someone else builds a superior rig, don't be so quick to point out flaws in this one. This guy deserves a round of free beer for his efforts. It took a lot of work to put together a working model, test it, disassemble it, and build it back better. That's the mark of a dedicated DIY project guy who just wasn't satisfied with the first version because he knew he could improve the design...and he did. My hat's off to DangerDave.

      Matthew Barnes superb idea. I would get fat tires in front. More stability. But I must say that I admire all this work. I have 11hp snowblower with 3 forward speeds and 2 reverse. I want to convert it to a rear riding (standing up) log skidder or all purpose pulling vehicule (gravel, dirt, etc) . With a 2in hitch it would fit with my boat trailer, big garden trailer, destasher.

Do your idea seems perfect, can add wheel weights where it counts or couple feed sacks in the bed, the receiver hitch allows for the aftermarket implements for the garden and driveway work. So do you offer plans on how you made the rear tandem setup?

    How reliable are those chains and sprockets though after a long ride with some mud and rubble? Maintaining just the one chain on my dirtbike with its dust sheilds and adjustable hub & tensioner is already enough hassel to make me want to swap over shaft drive! Amazing job nonetheless though. The only thing I might have done differently is use double v-velts with a spring tensioner instead of chains for each set of wheels.

    • @DangerDave95
      @DangerDave95  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's been 4+ years now and the chains and sprockets are completely fine. I haven't needed to do anything with them other than oil them when I remember lol. I've had it sunk into a lot of mud holes and gotten sticks stuck in the chains and it just keeps going. I'm using 530 roller equipment chain.
