Bob Timko ranks right up there with the very best of the Cleveland style polka artists. He deserves all the recognition for his recordings, TV appearances and for all the many personal performances at the clubs and dances he played at in the east and Midwest parts of the USA and the trips abroad. His music is still played by many DJ's around the country and will be for many years to come.
I know Bob and see him often. He is 82 and although he could, he does not even play anymore. I have seen his infamous "Bob Timko " accordion, at his home. The last time he played it was for his induction of the Hall of Fame. Thats it, back in the case.
One of my all time musical heroes. I saw him play at that induction but was too nervous to actually meet him. Thank him for all the music and inspiration. Alex meixner
