Nice work. I started doing this type of work in 1973. Your finish work looks very nice for curb gutter and sidewalks. Most city work is not that clean. You should be proud of the product you put out.
You are so so write about inflation. I found out when i started my concrete company 20 year's ago when i did some work for the city and Cal-Trans. I could not agree more. Your smart and up to date. I wish you guy's the best. ❤
I was born and raised in California I know what you're talking about and yes California is expensive and it's always work out there but times the economy sucks but at least you got something going on Good luck you on anything else you do
i like the prep work you do in order not to get concrete on the existing driveway. do you pull permits and have business licenses in every city you build/conduct business in?
I have one question if you don’t mind me asking. I use an aluminum bill float, and I’ve seen you use the wooden one. What’s the advantages/disadvantages of using wood?
wood pushes the rocks down a little more but mag float works fine just run it more times I like mag float for ramps because it doesn't move the concrete as much which could mess up your elevations
@@NBAmadara ok. I was just curious. I’ve seen him having it used a couple times, and like I said I’ve only used my bill float and didn’t know the specifics on choosing wood,
Hey Terrence 👊 we use a wood bull float to leave the concrete open. So the bleed water rises to the top and then we seal it up with a steal trowel 👍 freeze areas do it differently
I’ve been in structural repair for about 7 years and I made the change to another company. All city work, curb, gutter, sidewalk, aprons. Any major easy tips?
Hello my brother!!! Wow beautiful work like always!!!!! Great commentating bro !!!! Great crew of master finishers!!!! Best In The West!!!!! Ur always killing it!!!!! 👍🏼👍🏼💯💯
As per the wiki; "In economics, inflation is a general increase in the prices of goods and services in an economy. When the general price level rises, each unit of currency buys fewer goods and services; consequently, inflation corresponds to a reduction in the purchasing power of money. The opposite of inflation is deflation, a sustained decrease in the general price level of goods and services. The common measure of inflation is the inflation rate, the annualized percentage change in a general price index. As prices do not all increase at the same rate, the consumer price index (CPI) is often used for this purpose. The employment cost index is also used for wages in the United States." There are other causes, but for simplicity's sake, that is the definition. Countries can add or subtract to it, but that is secondary. "Inflation is “too much money chasing too few goods (and services)." Milton Friedman gold can never be anything but a minor hedge against inflation. You can't eat gold.
@@WestCoastCustomConcrete Currently the reason we have inflation is directly tied to the war in Ukraine. There is an embargo on natural gas and oil from Russia. This is a shortage of goods. (the oil and gas)
Great!! Work your way up the coast to Seattle, Anthony. My job's too small but with all these high paid tech workers here, it'd be worth your while to bring floating steps to the PNW. Class up the place, proper!
Never seam to disappoint with the work brother. Another grand slam. Curb and gutter looks amazing. Like the faceing and edging out come. 100% all around keep up the great work. Another easy victory for best in the west. Keep calm and pump on Cheers
I saw a picture on victory outdoors Instagram of a pair of floating steps he tried. He locked the forms in 😂 west coast talks a lot. But I don't see anyone close to what he does.
Never saw you check your cross slope on the sidewalk to see if you were in ADA compliance and 5 guys to finish what about 75 ft of curb and gutter, Jezz !!!
@@WestCoastCustomConcrete - I always watch and drop a like. Just don't always comment. You know it's busy season for trades and I'm trying to soak up all this good money before everyone realizes the economy is fucked ! Lol
@@WestCoastCustomConcrete- Smart man. I'm in electrical contracting myself. That’s y I don’t even do work for contractors. I hate the bureaucracy No house slabs at all. I’m all flat work and metal building slabs. No inspection on 99.9% of all my jobs. And contractors wanna take your money and pay you a labor rate. Around here it’s $1.50-$1.80 labor from contractors. My jobs I get $3-4 off my labor and it’s way less labor in flat work over a house slab.
@@WestCoastCustomConcrete no. That’s what the going labor rate the gcs r wanting to pay to set up pour and finish. I don’t do that. I charge $6.50 a foot for flat work. I charge $1.00 a foot to pour and fish jobs that homeowners set up theirselves. $1000 minimum under 1000sqft then $1 a foot.
Hey just saying. Have a idea for you instead of flushing water down the curb to check for drainage. Just have all the crew piss up stream of it and watch it flow. Lol Just kidding brother great work

I have one question if you don’t mind me asking. I use an aluminum bill float, and I’ve seen you use the wooden one. What’s the advantages/disadvantages of using wood?
I’m guessing wood moves cream better, wood gives a smoother finish
Wood really gets the concrete where you need it and it levels out all the concrete before we use a mag/trial
wood pushes the rocks down a little more but mag float works fine just run it more times I like mag float for ramps because it doesn't move the concrete as much which could mess up your elevations
