And he luckily made so many of them. The problem is that when it comes to movies it can often be hard to remember the name of a good one I've seen years ago especially when you don't remember the actors in it. They used to make these mini series with people that were in for a while so it's hard to remember their names, now it's usually Tom C they use in most movies, which is why I watch the good old ones:)
I love him, too! Incredibly handsome! Greatest actor. He is the only actor who could have delivered an equal of better performance in Al Pacino roles in The Godfather, and Scarface.
Always know the truth and when you decide truth stand in it no matter what ! It is a tall order for truth and most can’t stand in it . Just remember what our LORD AND SAVIOR WENT THROUGH FOR THE TRUTH OF OUR SALVATION 🙏
Low-key but extremely intense and complex drama of an honorable, responsible, but deeply-conflicted man in a position of moral and legal authority, on trial in his own court, sitting in judgement on himself.
Every time I see Peter Strauss I remember The first time I saw him in rich man poor man always thought he was highly underrated Nick nolte was the one to become a successful movie actor but Peter Strauss should have held a similar position he is wonderful in every movie I have seen him in and this is no exception

This film is beyond the exceptional and approaches the status of a small masterpiece. The writing alone merits my opinion. I never heard of this film and I cannot say why..
What an enormous responsibility rests on the shoulders of a judge. It's so easy to criticize a judgement; so easy to forget that he is a fallible human being. It's not easy to just stand for the truth. That's when it's not an honor any more.
I have sat on 3 jury duties with (3) different judges. All of them handled things differently, in their courtrooms. One of them was for the criminal (a gang shooting). You'd be surprised how lenient he was. He did all sorts of things in a bad way. Should have been replaced for this trial. We think he was "on-the-take".
The law let these 17 children be violently abused and murdered ...that's truth too. Ask a parent who's suffered a lifetime of grief over the loss of a child.
Wow I never saw this before. One great movie! Helps us understand the tragedy behind the court system in convicting criminals. It's hard to accept that they have rights........but we have to obey the law.........or change them! ❣️🙏🇺🇲
The message of this movie, Penalty Phase, is very powerful. The United States of America is like a religion. You have to ultimately have some real faith in its idea and ideals, regardless of the times, especially if those in power are not holding steadfast to those ideals. It’s early September 2024. It’s been 38 years since this movie came out. I’m hoping there’s not just fear and politics left in our judicial system. I still have faith in the idea and ideals of our constitution, but it’s hard sometimes.
In the days of burning witches, if one of the citizens called out -'This is wrong' - he or she would be thrown on the fire as a servant of the burning witch. By the standards of the citizens in this narrative, Id say, nothing has changed!!! The Judge in this narrative, made the only and right decision. Unfortunately, in this narrative, a citizen preferred the old testament... "A Eye For An Eye." (" It's A Blind, Blind World. ")
Considering the depth of feeling this case aroused and knowing before hand he was going to dismiss the charges you would think the judge would have had the forsight to install a metal detector for all those entering the court room. It's pretty obvious one of those parents would have come armed and ready to kill if the murderer was let off on a technicality.
The main thing is that man will never harm another child ! God says inthe Bible to send them on to him and obey his law and these things like what he was doing will cease to happen among you !!
the foolishness of so-called dumb ass juries taken from everyday regular average people when it should be from final year or pass class of lawyers who should be sharpening their chops after studying so hard and long with analytical minds instead bored regular public wanting to get back to their works and marbled brains of their everyday regular life. God knows how many innocent lives got destroyed by this very fact.
Nice flick good acting.Nonetheless I would never watch it again as the plot is very truthful and extremely upsetting. It depicts the idiotic justice system that is literally blind to the victams’rights ,but very sensitive to the rights of the criminals even though they admitted wrongdoing.
Wow a good movie , really makes you touch base with where you stand on which side of that line between right and wrong … there is no middle ground . I know it was tough for me to say where I would stand . Knowing what the criminal did and knowing what the police and other judge did . Yes a tough conclusion I made . Hope that all look at this and found out what and who they are , too .
everybody is in favor of law and order but only when it agrees with them, that's what Faulkner's wife is saying. anyway, I've always liked Peter Strauss and for a really serious actor, he played a scene in Peter Gunn that left me screaming with laughter. See if you can find it. I also like Richard Chaves; it's sad that he left off acting due to a stalker.
The cops screwed it up, they were so busy trying to find a killer, that they invented a lot of the evidence, if was on the jury, I might vote him not guilty. A good movie! Love Peter Strauss!
This film brought out so Many ifs tampered evidence or evidence illegally obtained and the person convicted was actually innocence instead of guilty!!!! Does the end justify the means???
Standing up to corruption requires lots of courage .when the justice system is corrupt the movie shows that one judge against all odds can make a very big difference Very instruct8ve movie ad sad one too.blackmail goes hand in hand with corruption ad the gullible citizen suffers albeit seemingly rooting for fruits of a poisonous tree
A difficult movie to understand. Three lookalike beautiful dark haired women. Who is who? In today's movies we have a blonde, a dark haired and a red haired woman. It makes it much easier to understand to plot.
Underrated actors overrated, who cares? They got paid! Many actors see acting as simply a job. Like Robert Mitchum saw acting. It was his livelihood. He made money. Not all actors are seeking laurels and applause.

Peter Strauss is absolutely a wonderful actor. His voice is amazing and dignified. Really love the characters he portrayed. Love you so much Peter.❤❤❤
Peter Strauss is an underrated actor just like Eric Roberts!!
I agree
Did you see Eric Roberts in "Star 80" ? If not you must, it's about a play boy bunny murdered. He was really young before his accident.
Robert’s!

I loved that movie!

What a beautiful drama. Thank you sooo much!
Great actors and a really emotionally excellent movie. Must watch.
This movie was tailored for peter. No actor would have done justice for a good story.
I love Peter Strauss. He did so many movies, and then suddenly vanished.
Too bad there is no more honor in our courts!
