Yes, the song is from the pastorale «René Cassin», so it's taken from a performance in Soule after the Vichy France. Since Soule was the only territory of the French Basque Country that belonged to Vichy France almost entirely, I decided to put this map. There is no relation between the date it is and this uploading, I simply discovered this version of the song yesterday and felt encouraged to upload a new video.
@@pyrenaea3019 But is the entire pastorale sang in basque? Or do they want to paint basques as the baddies? Also the rest of the French Basque country was part of the occupied zone?
@@SenyorCapitàCollons There is a part sung in Gascon and Basques appear as the good guys. And yes, Low Navarre and Labort were part of the occupied zone.
You never cease to amaze, I never knew this song existed. By the way, the Basques did not cooperate with the Wehrmacht, and in my opinion this was the right decision, although I am German.
There were some exceptions such as Eugène Goyhenetche or Ion Mirande. But the Basques of that time where mostly against nazis. By the way, glad you are amazed by my content
@@pyrenaea3019 I watch a lot of Basque content (like Hutnza and Neomak) but the songs you upload are very unique, thank you again, I wish your people and culture to be preserved.
@@georgemarlborough6049 I wish that as well... That's modern folk music, I upload the old one, which is based in choirs, in dramatic accordion or guitar.
Can we have more contexte

@musicapoliticaysinletra Yes, the song is taken from the scene in which the actors perform as the antagonist nazis.
